Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been here several times, and the food is good. However, I went last week and had a terrible experience.
I ordered an "Arepa con Chicharron," which is the same thing I order every single time I come here. The waiter (I don't remember his full name, but it starts with an "M") brought out another food item. It was not a big deal, and I did not mind the mistake, since mistakes happen. I just wanted to be given the food that I ordered. So I told the waiter that I did not order that. The waiter said, "you ordered an Arepacon." I politely said "oh I guess we misunderstood each other, I want an Arepa con Chicharron." The waiter continued to INSIST that I ordered an "Arepacon," and said that he repeated the order to me before and I had confirmed it. He then said "the kitchen already made the Arepacon, so I can't take it back because that would be a loss for us." He was basically trying to FORCE me to eat something that 1) I did not order, and 2) I did not WANT.
After I once again repeated that I did not want the Arepacon, the waiter went to his manager and explained the situation. The manager told him to take the Arepacon back, and to give me the Arepa con Chicharron that I ordered. Although this was nice of the manager, she did not have the decency to come to my table to apologize for this mistake.
This customer service was completely unacceptable. I did not mind the mistake at first. "Chicharron" and "Arepacon" sound very similar, so it's obvious that the waiter misunderstood me, and I misunderstood him. However, rather than having good customer service skills, apologizing, and bringing me what I wanted, he continued to go back and forth with me and insist that I had to eat food that I did not want.
Despite this waiter's terrible service, Ronny was extremely nice. Ronny brought out my order and apologized for the mistake. Afterwards, my original waiter never bothered to come back to my table, and Ronny took over my table. Ronny deserves FIVE STARS for his wonderful and professional customer service. However, the other waiter is terrible and needs to learn customer service skills.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had been wanting to come eat at Arepalucious for quite some time. I follow them on Instagram and the food they post looks delicious. It was almost a 1hr trip for me to get there. It's a good location and I found parking right away. It is a bakery, but has a seating area for you to eat there. They have so many options on their menu, you'll have a hard time choosing what you want. I ended up ordering the platter (good for 2-3 people) to share with my partner, which brings a variety of items.... since I had trouble deciding what I wanted, this was my best option. We also ordered a couple of beef soups, which we were later told, that there was only enough soup for 1 serving, so we ended up ordering a chicken soup (1 and 1). After a while, the waiter comes out and tells us that there wasn't any beef soup left, so we just ordered the chicken soups. The chicken soup was hearty, a bit bland, but I finished it. The platter looked amazing. I loved the presentation and variety of items. Unfortunately, all our meats were cold, as if it had been sitting there for a long time. This was such a downer for us. Only the fried items were hot as if freshly made. The 3 sauces/sides it comes with we're delicious. As with the soup, I felt that the meats were bland as well. The beans were also bland, so I just think they go very light on seasoning their foods. I ordered a "pan queso" (cheese bread) that was freshly baked, to take home (which I had to go back for cause they forgot to give it to me). Overall, I think the food was decent. We weren't crazy about the food enough to come back, but we just might come back in the future to try the burgers. I must say that their Coconut Lemonade was so good... its a strange combination but it will surely wake up your taste buds. Go visit for yourself... maybe your visit will be...
