Fantastic location, rooms and most of the staff are friendly, welcoming, helpful and professional.
Save a few door staff, front desk employees and the european lady who eventually checked me in after my room very disappointingly and frustratingly was initially not ready by the check-in time of 4pm.
No explaination, apology or ETA was offered. No warm drink, hot towel etc. The european lady I mentioned above, could not even tell me roughly when the room might be ready... even 2 & 3* hotels don't mess this up and handle situations with more grace, professionalism and care for their guests. Not expected for a 5* hotel.
The same lady suggested I either wait in the Lobby for an unspecified amount of time, or go elsewhere and take a few laps of the block!
I eventually was able to check-in and carried my bags up to my room myself to be able to access what I needed without waiting.
Room was large and well-equipped with two large closets, a nice kitchenette and reasonable-sized bathroom with proper bath.
Bed and pillows were soft. Pillows especially which felt like they had down fillings rather than microfibre or something more supportive.
It does get a little loud at times due to the busy nearby area - Broadway, Columbus Circle etc. And also bright at night.
If I stayed again, I would upgrade to the Park View Suite or similar in advance. This option was not available due to occupancy around the NYC Marathon weekend I was told.
The Spa and Gym were very well-equipped and staff were fantastic - Kyle especially as he went out of his way to welcome me, give me a quick tour of the facilities and talk for a little while.
Apart from Norman on the front desk, the majority of the staff and their service felt cold, mostly uninterested and they weren't overly accomodating, helpful or professional I felt - This became quickly apparent when I asked for minor, fairly standard things like being able to leave a small drop bag with reception around the 5km & NYC Marathon weekend.
The front desk initially didn't understand why this might be necessary and what I was asking for, but I managed to sort this out after some time.
I didn't get the opportunity to experience the restaurant/room service or bar much unfortunately so can't comment there.
Overall an okay and satisfactorily comfortable stay, but service and experience not quite as expected from the brand and position/price of this property. I wouldn't rush back to the Trump over other properties unless there was either a very good promo or specific reason to...
Read moreTrump International Hotel – 1 Central Park West, New York, NY||||My husband and I recently traveled to the city for a wedding at Tavern on the Green, and Trump International was the recommended hotel due to its ideal location. We’ve stayed at many top-tier hotels in New York over the years—Sofitel, Marriott Marquis, Conrad Hilton, Westin, The Plaza, Hyatt, among others—but none compare to our experience at Trump International. It was, without question, the best!||||Our room offered a breathtaking view of Central Park and the surrounding skyline. Every detail—from the amenities like chocolates, specialty coffees and teas, spa products, robes, slippers, and evening turndown service—was impeccable! We were warmly welcomed at check-in with refreshing hand towels and delicious macaroons, and every staff member we encountered was gracious, helpful, and genuinely kind. It felt less like a hotel and more like being welcomed into an elegant, international home with an unmatched standard of hospitality.||||We were escorted to our room and immediately impressed by its generous size. The design was modern and minimalist, yet warm and inviting. The room included a fully appointed kitchenette with a dishwasher, refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, beverage bar, and beautiful glassware and dishes. The walk-in closet rivaled those on luxury cruise ships, and all lighting and shades were electronically controlled with clearly labeled settings—pressing the "Welcome" button brought the room to life, while the "Goodbye" button gently powered everything down.||||I also want to highlight the exceptional service from the spa team. I had not packed exercise clothing for the trip, but the spa staff went out of their way to help me find what I needed. They provided access to retail stock that wasn’t even out for display, and helped me get set up so I could still enjoy the fitness amenities during our stay. Their kindness and resourcefulness truly went above and beyond.||||Housekeeping was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and thoughtful in every interaction. While the bathroom was slightly smaller than expected, it was still beautifully designed and brightly lit.||||We’re already looking forward to our next trip to New York—just so we can return to Trump International. A truly...
Read moreI stayed here recently with my family. Last year, we had an exceptional stay. This time, it wasn't a perfect stay. ||We booked the central park view suite again and planned to use the sofa bed. However, it wasn't good. The front desk lady didn't offer to have the sofa mattress checked or changed. Instead, we got another room for about $1,000 more per night. The view was overlooking the circle, which is very noisy and the room is like a maze. My autistic daughter wasn't going to have a pleasant stay. We went back to the first room, and José the manager, even sent housekeeping to check the mattress as if to make sure we weren't lying. It wasn't good, so they sent a roller bed. The first night, my husband had to sleep on the floor. If we had known this about the old sofa mattress we would have booked a two room suite overlooking the park and definitely on the left side of hotel because some parts of the building can interfere with your view like the corner ones by the circle. ||||Only one time we ordered room service. I asked for scrambled eggs. When we received the food, the eggs were so yellow that my autistic child couldn't eat. I called the room service, and the lady explained this, "in the early morning, the kitchen cracks all the eggs and separates the yolk and whites. When someone asks for scrambled eggs, we use the yolk only..." Seriously? I even explained this to the front desk man because it was so confusing that a scrambled egg would only have yolk. ||||On another note, thank you to Jesus for making my children happy and for always being so positive. Also, Johnny, Sergio, Thales, and James were so wonderful. ||The driver, Youseff, was the best! We felt safe and comfortable with his driving. He had such a wonderful light that even my daughter Paloma gave him an M&M Keychain for being the best driver. It is so hard to feel safe in the city, but this place can definitely make you feel safe. I hope next time we don't have all yolk scrambled eggs and that the mattress is not old. Also, the safe wasn't working, so it would be convenient to have that checked. ||||We loved the gifts the girls got when we first arrived. ||||Thank you to the Bellman, Doorman, and Driver for brightening our stay. ||||Bagheri family. ||||Paloma and Vivienne love...
