During our recent visit to New York City, we stopped by the Central Park Information Kiosk at Columbus Circle, and I have to say—it was more helpful than I expected. Located right at the entrance of Central Park South, near Columbus Circle, this small kiosk is very easy to find. It’s surrounded by beautiful scenery, horse-drawn carriages, street musicians, and the buzz of the city—so the contrast between the busy street and the calm of the park is really something special.
The staff at the kiosk were friendly, approachable, and very knowledgeable. We were a bit unsure about where to start exploring the park, and they gave us a free map along with some great recommendations for routes depending on how much time we had. Since we were visiting with family and had limited time, they suggested the highlights like Strawberry Fields, The Mall, and Bethesda Terrace — all within walking distance and worth seeing.
They also answered a few questions about nearby subway stations, restrooms, and food vendors, which saved us a lot of time. It’s not a big place — just a small booth — but it’s a great resource if you’re visiting Central Park for the first time or just want a quick tip before heading in.

This man charged me 40 dollars for a five minute ride. That I could have walked in 10min. I'm non confrontational, so I don't like to argue. I left the Sheraton Times square hotel. Read moreWe came!!We saw!! We did not conquer...not enough time...😫😫. We are coming back!!! This park has everything. We saw people and dogs and street art!!! They say to have your dog on leash but there were so many off leash that we did it too. Woogie is pretty obedient so we had no issue with him running away or causing havoc. You can walk for hours and not get thru this park!!!! We are really thinking of coming back or our way home...
