I wanted to share my experience, my boyfriend and I, had at your store on 58th.
We spoke when you were greeting customers outside in line. I'm originally from Long Island and currently live in South Carolina. Once we were inside the store, in passing I had asked you "how long does it stay this busy?" And you replied til about 3 o'clock and then informed me about how many bagel stores are in the city and none of them compare to your product/prices.
All and all the whole line/experience was about 50 minutes which I'm sure could have been worse as well as better, depending on the time of day. That being said. We got in line at 10:48 on Sunday morning by the time we ordered and paid, the receipt states 11:27.
We ordered 1 garlic bagel with scallion cream cheese, 1 French toast bagel, 6 everything, 4 plain, 1 asiago, 1 garlic. Totalling 14 bagels. We paid for 14 bagels but upon arriving home to South Carolina, I was disappointed to discover we only had 1 plain bagel in the bag. We were shorted 3 bagels.
I can take fault in not double checking the order before leaving the establishment but in my defense, after almost an hour of waiting in line and with the mad house of people, it would have been quite difficult to see if there were actually 14 bagels in that bag, and we had to get to the airport to catch our flight.
Looking at the written receipt, I can see how perhaps the circled 4, could have been mistaken for a 1. However, it doesn't really resemble the circled 1's below it. Also, the cashier was able to read the correct order and charge us according.
That being said, the bagels did not disappoint. They were fresh and delicious. However, I wish the order would have been filled properly and the customer service skills of the employees were a little more friendly. I understand busy establishments but customer service is a big part of the business as well as the food quality/prices.
I sent this email to the Gmail address from the website, when we got home, 2 days ago, with no response. I'm still hoping to have this situation rectified since I paid for and was...
Read moreI always make it a point to visit [Bagel Shop Name] whenever I’m in NYC, but after this experience, I’m not sure I’ll be back.
I ordered three bagels: • Bacon, egg, and cheese on a multigrain bagel • French toast bagel with strawberry cream cheese • Everything bagel with chipotle scallion cream cheese
Since my order was placed under two separate tickets, it was packed into two separate bags. I received the first bag (#9136) right away and then waited 15 more minutes for the second bag (#9137). Once I finally got everything, I walked 20 minutes back to my hotel, only to realize my first bag only had one bagel—and even worse, my bacon, egg, and cheese ended up on a multigrain bagel with strawberry cream cheese. Who thought that was a good idea?!
Not only was my order wrong, but two out of the three bagels were ruined, leaving my friends hungry while I was the only one with an edible meal. At that point, I was too frustrated to walk all the way back to get it fixed.
This was a huge letdown, and I’m incredibly disappointed. If you go, double-check your order before you leave!
—— Update: I appreciate the owner taking the time to respond. However, my experience was disappointing, and I stand by my review. A high overall rating doesn’t excuse poor service or quality, and I gave honest feedback based on what I encountered. Instead of addressing my concerns, the response felt dismissive and defensive. Also, if you’re going to ask someone to reconsider their review, it would be nice to at least spell my name correctly. I value businesses that take real accountability, and unfortunately, this response only reinforced...
Read moreExcellent bagel experience at Broad Nosh Bagels. I came here on a busy Sunday during a perfect spring day (for anyone who knows, this is prime bagel time). The line was long but it moved quickly. The selection of cream cheese was better than I’ve ever seen. I’ve never seen mango cream cheese or lox spread with scallion. Lots of great options to choose from.
I had egg whites, avocado, pepper jack cheese, and turkey on an egg everything bagel. At first, they missed the turkey in my order, but the staff were quick to take my bagel back and rectify the mistake. The egg everything bagel was the perfect ratio of chewy, dense, and flavorful, and the fillings were both ripe and perfectly cooked. My friend had a pastrami, egg, and cheese on a pumpernickel bagel. I was lucky she let me try it. The pumpernickel flavor was rich and the pastrami was very high quality and a solid portion.
I also got to try the mango cream cheese on a plain bagel. This was a great “dessert” combination. The cream cheese was not too sweet. It tasted like a pastry, but also a bagel. I didn’t think anything in the world could top that combination until I next tried a French toast bagel with strawberry cream cheese. Let’s just say I will no longer eat a plain bagel after that. Broad Nosh’s French toast bagel had the right hints of cinnamon, egg flavor, and sweetness to titillate my taste buds and end my large brunch on a high note.
They also have indoor and outdoor seating, which is not always the case at great bagel establishments.
10/10 or 5/5. I’m heading there now (2...
