Our stay at this hotel was an absolute nightmare. The staff was unhelpful, and the noise levels were unacceptable for what is supposed to be a reputable property.
The room above us hosted what sounded like a full-blown party all night long — stomping, furniture moving, banging against walls — you name it. We were first woken up at 12:30 am and called the front desk. When the noise continued for over an hour, my husband went down in person. We were told they would “speak to the guests,” but it didn’t improve. Around 3 am, we were woken again by loud banging. My husband went back to the front desk, and this time the “solution” offered was earplugs. What a joke!
For the price we paid, the experience was beyond disappointing. We had an early 8 am flight out of Boston, meaning we had to leave the hotel at 5 am, and instead of sleeping, we spent the night dealing with chaos and a staff that couldn’t be bothered to address the situation. Our friends staying across the hall had the same noise issues the night before, so this was clearly not an isolated incident.
A hotel at this level should either be built with better soundproofing or have staff trained to actually resolve these problems. At the very least, the noisy group should have been asked to leave after the second complaint. Instead, we were left sleepless and frustrated.
I hated staying here and would never recommend this...

THE GOOD: On appearances, the hotel is wonderful. The rooms are clean and the property appears well kept. Rooms are large and well suited for travel. If you’re looking at the pictures, you won’t be disappointed.
THE BAD: If you care at all about a good nights sleep, avoid this hotel. The walls and floors are absolutely paper thin. On both nights, we were kept up for hours dealing with the Gorilla’s who stayed above us. Despite multiple pleas with the front desk, the problem was not dealt with. As another review has said, (and others will say as this problem persists), you’re taking a chance with this property. Our first call to the front desk was at 12:30 am. This review is occurring at 3:00 am.
OTHER: (and this is probably my sour nature taking over) The hotel is situated on a main roadway. Our family stayed in a room closest to the street and complained of roadway noise. If the walls to the outside are as thin as the walls above us, I no doubt believe them.
FINAL (or so I thought): Again, if you like the zoo and want to hear animals all night, choose this hotel. If you at all care about a good nights sleep, avoid or bring the best noise canceling headphones money can buy.
3:15 AM UPDATE: The woman at the front desk offered us ear plugs. Just icing on the cake. Instead of fixing the problem by eviction, we have been offered ear...
Read moreGreat hotel if you’re looking for fresh, new, and modern in Newport. Location is great with beaches, the Cliff Walk and Thames St. all walkable. There’s no gym on property but you have access to the fitness center next door at the Tennis Hall of Fame and it’s surprisingly well equipped (and quiet). Theres also on site, off street parking available which many hotels don’t have. ||Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. One thing of note is that they don’t have a traditional Front Desk. When you enter the hotel you’re right in the middle of the first floor hallway of rooms. They have an office with a window by the rear door which is where you check in/out and find staff if you need something. It wasn’t an issue at all, just something different to be aware of. I didn’t need much from staff during my stay but I did witness them bending over backwards to help other guests with directions, recommendations, and various other questions. ||My only complaint is that they didn’t put much in the way of sound proofing into this new hotel. I heard every footstep and headboard from the floor above me and the argument going on in the room next door. I would expect that from a 19th century Newport hotel, but not brand new construction. That said, I would still...
