La Forge Casino Restaurant — Restaurant in Newport

This is a complicated review so please read it all.

We had a large party here for about 45 people on a Thursday night. We specifically worked with Erin, the event coordinator, and Justin, the general manager. The two stars are based solely on their performance. Their response to questions, availability to speak about our event, and communication to their staff was aweful! I would never do another event there if I had to deal with either of them. It would take us 2 or 3 emails and a phone call to get them to respond to us.

As an example, we dropped the table linens off on Wednesday, along with centerpieces, seating cards, and a few signs so we wouldn't have to carry them in while dressed for the event or deal with inclement weather. We intended to put everything out at 4pm the next evening, in advance of the event. Erin had told us that she would be present for part of our event. When we arrived at 4, neither Justin nor Erin were there. The staff that was present started that they were waiting for a delivery of table linens, had no idea our supplies were there, and said that neither Justin, who we had seen in person the night we delivered everything, nor Erin had said anything to the staff about our table linens. As a result, nothing was set up.

Once we got over the shock of this lack of communication, Brittany, Marta, and Terry were completely professional and jumped in to help us.

Both Brittany and Terry were fantastic to work with. They totally made us feel covered. I will write another review, giving a 5 star for them. Marta was so attentive at the bar and knew all the key people to pay attention to.

The food was outstanding. The bar was attentive and served quickly and hot. The night was a huge success ONLY because of Brittany, Terry, and Marta! I would certainly come again if I could...

My husband and I had been coming here for over 15 years, both when we lived in Newport and after we moved to wickford. It was one of our favorite saturday nite spots, as well as newyears ,st patty's day and whenever we had out of town guests. We had not been here for the last couple of months, but when our out of town guests visited last weekend we made a reservation in the bar, so they could experience the ambience , food , drinks and piano . While our favorite bartender brian was there and Dave Manuel can fill any room with joy, my husband and I were shocked by the changes that were made. Gone were all the delightful wall adornments that gave it character. Also gone was the wonderful extensive menu choices. Even the drink glasses had changed, looked like sorbet glasses, awkward and smaller. And also gone were the customers, all the regulars that would pack the place on a friday or Saturday night. We needn't have bothered with a reservation. There were only 2 other tables with diners, and no one at the bar.

I know there was an ownership change, but we had been told that it wouldn't change all the things we loved about crowleys pub. I feel like I have lost a dear friend. In fact many friends since it never failed that we ran into other regulars or made friends with someone new every time we went there.

New owners, the only reason I even gave u 2 stars is because brian and dave are still there. I hope u will wake up before there is no chance for you to recover from what you have done to this once gem of a restaurant....

Delicious food! Delightful Staff & Service! A Dapper dining experience!

We really enjoyed our birthday dinner at the “refreshed” Bellevue Bar inside La Forge Casino Restaurant. The new bar is gorgeous and inviting. The menu is really fun with so many tempting items, and plenty of price ranges to please many - especially if dining on their Sunday dinner special menu!

We enjoyed the baked cod, baked little neck clams, Brussels Sprouts with Bacon in a balsamic drizzle, meatloaf, Mac and cheese — and if you think you should pass on dessert; think again! The Irish Raisin Bread Pudding is decadently prepared with all the right trimmings.

PS I do love a white table dining experience! Lots to return and taste. 👅

Everything was tasty though. And we can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu items 😋

We will definitely return to this charming Newport favorite.

Had an absolutely lovely dinner here with friends. Completely decked out in holiday trimmings it felt post card perfect! But what’s even better is the food was just as pleasing! The service was warm, friendly and attentive.

Also, we were entertained by some live piano music throughout dinner and at the end enjoyed a little singing ourselves.

Favorite meal items: Delicious onion soup! Crazy...
