This is a perfect example of you pay for what you get. The location is amazing, walk right across the road and you’re at the beach BUT it’s not all good. When we arrived at the hotel to check in the staff had the front door locked and pointed us up stairs for whatever reason so we stood upstairs for 30 mins waiting until we finally went back down to the front desk and had to scream and knock on the door for them to even look in our direction after 45 mins we finally got our room, As soon as we walked in the door, the paint on the walls is falling off, there’s wires hanging out of random places in the walls, our bathroom door wouldn’t lock because it looks like it’s been kicked in , no microwave, if you walk on the floor barefoot your feet will turn completely black and sticky, a loud squeaky noise came from the sink the whole stay, i wouldn’t recommend showering if you weight more than 150lbs , i stepped in the shower and it felt like it was about to fall through, super squishy feelings. no trash can in the bathroom, we found cockroach’s , asked for more towels and wasn’t able to get anymore so we used wet sandy towels to clean off, the location isn’t safe for anyone traveling alone or kids. A shooting happened near by two times in a 4 day trip. I enjoyed my trip because i’m a glass half full kind of person and spent a lot of time exploring and only slept in the hotel. Just wanted to give real review because the ones i read made it...
Read moreTo start with, this place is a DUMP. I booked this through Expedia and when I arrived to check in, the person at the counter charged me $16.10 more than the price I booked the room for. After showing him my reservation from Expedia he said he did not care what Expedia sold the room at, this was his price. Since it was across from the pier I was going to fish at, I paid the higher price. Upon getting into the room, it was evident this was more of a dump than the outside led you to believe. Please look at the pictures for proof. The pictures they show on their website had to have been from when it was first built. The room smelled, bathroom door would not shut, cover falling off HVAC unit (fell off at 2:30am Saturday morning and left it off), towels were not clean (or didn’t smell clean), beds hard as a rock, molding falling off the wall, no security latch on the door, shade instead of a curtain that could be peeked around, outside the room a 4x4 was holding up the ceiling, exterior walls cracked and you could see light through them, it was after 6:30pm and room service was still cleaning rooms, trash in the walkway , and I could go on. I will give to those reading this a good piece of advice and that is to book elsewhere. It may cost a little more but worth it in the long run. I did run into some motorcyclists that said they were on their 3rd room and going back to change rooms again due to smell. VERY DIRTY AND...
Read more⭐ 1 star My stay at Budget Inn Norfolk - Oceanview was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. There was absolutely nothing pleasant about it. The hotel is in terrible condition and does not match the price we paid — we spent $250 for two nights, and it was disappointing from start to finish.
The location is far from the beach, with no restaurants or shops nearby — everything is about 30 minutes away. The front desk service was extremely rude and unprofessional. After booking through Booking.com, we received a message from the hotel asking us to call and provide our credit card details over the phone to “confirm” the reservation. This was suspicious, so we contacted Booking.com, and they told us not to do it.
When we arrived, we were treated poorly by a very rude receptionist. Once we got to our room, the air conditioner wasn’t working, the room smelled like mold, and the floor was covered in sand — clearly, it hadn’t been cleaned. The bathroom was dirty as well. On top of all that, the photos on the website are completely misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the room.
Honestly, I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. With the condition of the property, the location, and the service, it should cost a third of what we paid — and even then, it wouldn’t...
