So, I'm not from Virginia and I have a service dog. Service dogs are not even required to show IDs/certification, but apparently in Virginia there's a special law that they have to wear a vest. This isn't the law where I'm from or any other state I know of and it's way too hot for a German Shepherd to have to wear a vest right now. Anyways, I went to the restaurant where my mom was waiting for me and had already told them that I was coming with a service dog. I get there, start going up the stairs, and men start shouting at me that no pets are allowed. I told them she's a service dog and they asked for ID, which I said I would bring them, but just wanted to hand her off to my mom so my hands were free, to which they continued absolutely shouting at me and making a scene, so I had to immediately walk down and show them my ID. The guy there at the front desk/kitchen area still kept acting all riled up, trying to ask a whole bunch of people what to do, looking it up and everything and then makes a big deal that Virginia law states that she has to wear a vest, despite the overall law that I'm not allowed to be denied (discriminated) because I have a service dog. The guy clearly didn't know what to do, went off calling someone, and then came back FINALLY not yelling. I didn't raise my voice even once and despite the entire scene he made for several minutes, my dog remained professional as she'd been trained and just calmly sat there the whole time. He finally lets me go and this kid food runner with black hair runs up to me literally after the whole scene had JUST finished, shouting and asking me if she was a service dog. Anyways, when that major disappointment of unprofessional manners finally resolved, I finally joined my mom. She had already been waiting about 10-20 minutes, and we had to still wait for another additional 30-45 minutes STILL to even get a seat, despite being told it would only be a 25 minute wait. So, we finally sit down and we order our food, and during the hour wait we had, that maybe 15 year old kid that was a food runner comes up behind my service dog while she's laying down next to me and STOMPS over her. Not even steps over, but literally STOMPS and startles her. She sat up and was obviously discomforted by this kid, but being the good service dog she is - just quietly sat up and looked at what this loud noise and shaking was RIGHT next to her. I really wanted to shout at this kid at this point, but just let it go. But then, every time the kid walked by, he kept looking at my dog and then looking at us and sneering. At this point, my step-sister who had witnessed everything confronted him and asked him what his problem was to which he pretended he had no idea what she was talking about despite EVERYONE noticing this bratty kid harassing our table. Our food took an hour before it finally arrived after already waiting about an hour and I honestly can't say it was worth it, ESPECIALLY with all the unprofessional harassment. To top it off, no one at my table had a single alcoholic drink, but when we were leaving, that same 15 year old looking kid very sarcastically says "you guys be safe" in an insinuating manner as if we were drunk after we said thank you and good night, trying to ignore the upset that we experienced as a whole, especially from him. Only reason I give this 2 stars instead of 1 is because the view was phenomenal and the food was alright. But we will NEVER come here again....
Read moreI had to give it one star, this star is for the location alone, otherwise it would be 0. This was the worst food and experience we have ever had at a restaurant. They have a prime location and this allows them to lure you in, for the atmosphere/location. They appear to be under staffed. Made to wait, standing at the bar for simple drinks before being served. They had 1 lone person working. finally we were seated 20 minutes later at the same empty table that was empty the entire time we waited?!?! This in no way reflects our waitress, she was kind and apologetic. I ordered a fish sandwich, fries, and a salad, then a small side order of clams. He ordered simply Nachos (12.99). We waited over 45 minutes, I asked for my salad to be served before the Entrée, it was still servered along with the meal. His nachos look like they were from last week, dry cheese, dry meat and tasted absolutly awful!!The nachos were so stale they didnt even crunch. He never complains about no food.. But He refused to eat his food and I cannot say I blame him. My clams(10.99 for shells) were flavorless except for the lemon tinted water they were served in . The fish sandwish I thought there was hope for it! But i truely had to force myself to eat half so I wasn't going starving the rest of the night. It was now late and most places for a sit down meal were closed. We drove 31miles from the restaurant location to return to our motel room completely unsatisfied. The manager came to us an acted like it was our fault the food was cold, an apology was never offered she grabbed the 2 plates from the table and walked away, I assume she is use to complaints because she did not hear us out. I even asked her when the last time she ate the clams she was serving and she had nothing to say.. When I drive out of my way, past so many other options to have this sort of experience I drive back wishing I had eaten anywhere else. My boyfriend even said Taco Bell would have been 100 times better. If you visit please eat else where and only go here for the...
Read moreI had to update my review from four years ago when this was a good place after our experience tonight. It was busy and I understand that. The service was completely unacceptable though. From minor things like leaving pico de gallo on which I asked for it to not be added, to forgetting part of my daughters meal and asking 4 times for it to be brought out and it finally was brought out after everyone was finished eating, to low food quality, the “CC service fee” of $2 and finally, what really made me make this poor review, they gave me a rum and Coke instead of a Diet Coke. First of all, my two year sobriety is on the 24th. Secondly, I drive with an interlock on my car. Not only did they serve me ALCOHOL when I DID NOT ASK FOR IT, But they potentially put me at risk for relapse and violating my interlock. Luckily, my sister and her boyfriend drove, and were able to take me where I needed to run errands after we left so I wouldn’t violate my car because of this deplorable mistake made by the workers of this restaurant. That’s unacceptable. The rest of the visit there wasn’t good, but I understand bad and busy nights happen. I don’t leave negative reviews unless it’s something serious.
You cannot make these types of mistakes when you serve alcohol. Maybe if you would hire some workers that are more experienced and hire more of them they wouldn’t be so overwhelmed to make such a mistake. This isn’t a server issue, it’s the management.
Completely unacceptable. Thinking about filing an official complaint.
And the “CC charge”? That means you’re pulling in probably more than thousands in income for that monthly. You don’t even see the surcharge until you run the card and you’ve paid it. No one operates in cash, this establishment isn’t hurting in card sales, it’s a poor excuse to generate more money...
