Edit: The owner reached out to me and we had a conversation about how things went. I am very satisfied with the resolution we came to and will be returning!
Really good store but very disappointed in their customer service. My boyfriend and I haven't been to a tourney here before because it's a bit out of our way since we live in Virginia Beach. We had previously signed up online for a treasure cup here that we were really excited to attend so today we got up early, got breakfast and coffee nearby, and headed into the building about 5 minutes before the tourney was supposed to start. Despite it not being stated anywhere on the bandai sign up, we were informed that they close sign ups 10-15 minutes before the tourney start time. After being told to speak to another person about 'maybe' putting us on the list, we went up the stairs where we were turned away with "I'm gonna have to say no. Try to plan ahead next time."
I don't quite understand how you're supposed to plan ahead to get to a tourney, you have already signed up for, 15 minutes beforehand just so you can sign up again. Please consider, the reason so many people who sign up online are 'no showing' may not be for lack of trying but instead because they are being rudely turned away by staff. As far as planning ahead, I think we will just plan to go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWith board game in hand, ready to purchase, my friend and I approach the sales counter and see another item that interests me which was nearly in reach, so I chose to ask respectfully if I may see the item. "Yeah, you can see it can't you--your eyes work don't they?" Said the long-haired clerk who was doing his best to troll me. I turned to my friend with a puzzled look, then patiently addressed the clerk again sigh , "may I examine the product in my hands..." "Yes" he replied. So I take a step in the gap of the counter tops to pick up the item and clerk emphatically gestures me to stop and said "NOT BEHIND THIS LINE." "Are you serious?" I asked. "Yes." Once again, I turn to my friend in disbelief. Things were beginning to escalate and become uncomfortable. Here I was trying to be a respectable customer and this guy was intent on harassing us, probably because we didn't look like his typical clientele. "I'm just f*ing with you" he replies as I'm setting the goods down in frustration. "You just lost a sale." "Ok." He replies. He never issued an apology or tried to remedy what took place, simply tried to throw it off as some sort of joke but coming far too late. In summary, I haven't seen a place that treats people this disrespectfully and with such contempt, perhaps ever, even if it...
Read moreGreat place to look for single cards for building decks, whether that would be Pokémon, Magic, or Yu-Gi-Oh. Staff are always friendly and eager to help. There are a lot of other things they offer for all physical games, from paints and tools to dice and coins. Board games, comic books, and even just regular Manga and graphic novels. They also have lots of supplies for card games. Especially protection. Lots of play mats, mat tubes, deck boxes, and sleeves. They also have a good selection of said items within varying price ranges. You can go for the generic no-name stuff to get the job done, to a lot of midrange items for some quality, all the way to the top brands like Ultrapro, Dragon Shield, etc. Prices are always good for singles. They go off of most recent sold in condition. They try to keep it updated as much as they can and keep it the price fair. Sealed product can be 1 to 4 dollars over, let's say Target, but really, it really depends on what you're purchasing. Everything is pretty reasonable, and I've never had an issue. I've been coming here for a couple of years, and the staff has changed a bit, but the place is still very welcoming and always improving....
