Be warned of ongoing multiple room issues mainly finding no water in sink or shower makes a challenging stay: water leak in fridge and sink drain rubbed in the salt. Otherwise would be a nice place ! We did get some points to compensate on the 3rd morning which is to be appreciated, although like closing the pen halfway after the bull is out.
Update: we checked in on arrival Dec 27 evening to find a only a trickle of water in bathroom and told management. Front desk staff said someone is looking at it and should be fixed by morning or will be escalated. The water problem continued and was finally claimed to have been resolved on afternoon of 28th. Indeed water was fine 28th night but next morning when we are getting ready to head out (dec 29 2022 morning) the water is completely gone. We asked managment by calling where we can go to the washroom and wash our hands and were informed no idea.
We spoke with multiple guests who encountered the same issue.
Disappointing for any Marriott chain brand.
We returned to the hotel evening of Dec 29 and again water is gone. Managment have found a different room for us now ..which again had little water and then a 2nd room which had water and night of Dec 29 we moved a room .. sp far the warers working. Theres a piddle forming under the sink but weve stuffed towels to hold it at bay..we're checking out Dec 30 morning...Suspense awaits...
Detailed review is below extremely low water pressure in washrooms throughout this hotel so difficult to wash or shower. We arrived last night and were informed issue would be resolved and someing working on it. And not resolved by morning when we followed up engineer was to come today and apparently working on it but still not resolved as of Dec 28. If not resolved today then unfortunately we will kneed to figure out a different hotel. Quite disappointing. Give the issues were known before we arrived after a long road trip I was disappointed that we were not forewarned. Managmeent have committed to try and resolve but I am not overly optimistic given the lack of proactive communication or informed consent to our staying here under these conditions ehich were known or reasonably able to be anticipated at the time.
The fridge in our room is not working. We have temperature sensitive medicine which need to be refrigerated and not frozen and the fridge is leaking water which dripped onto top of food etc- We have asked managent to fix or replace and are optimistic this will be resolved by tonight Dec 28 when we return to our hotel.
The breakfast buffet was disappointing.Same menu on 2nd day but 2nd day i got extra muffin options which were actually delicious . There was no bread, and the options were quite limited. E.g. one choice of muffin -(chocolate chip) yogurt (low fat peach flavor) egg (boiled cold) and no bread (1 type of bagel and 1 muffin to choose from) etc. There was only one warm food / meat option (bacon cheese muffin McDonald's style 'and we had food restrictions so could not eat that), one fruit (orange) but there were multiple cereals (lots of topings to choose from so that was nice). There is also a a spinach an ld cheese quiche individually packaged (which I personally did not like) but perhaps others will.
Otherwise the staff are friendly the place was clean. The rooms don't have much storage but that's no issue.
Overall be warned ! On a short family holiday having planned out time effort to come a long way take office vacations etc. I am quite disappointed to have to spend out time and energy on this. Hope this feedback is helpful to managment...
Read moreI booked a room more than 30 days prior to my family vacation trip. Key questions that I asked since I had never been to NYC were if they provided transportation to the hotel from and to the airport, Times Squares, and train/bus stations? The reservation agent confirmed that they did offer shuttles to the airport and train stations. Once I landed and called for transportation at the airport, they immediately told me that they did not have shuttles and they did not provide any transportation. I could not change the hotel at the time as everything seemed to be booked in NYC.
We decided to stay and make the better of it. Luckily, there is a bus stop right behind the hotel, which will take you in 20-25 minutes straight to Times Square. This was our method of transportation during the 6 day stay, and it was a pretty fun experience.
During my reservation, I booked only one room because I was told that the room had double beds and a sofa. I received a double room, and it was a bit uncomfortable.
When I arrived at the hotel, as expected, the room was not ready and it is understandable as I arrived 2 hours early, but they have to do better with service. Instead of telling me that the room was not ready until 3pm and that I was welcome to sit in the lobby to wait, they can acknowledge the guest and at least offer a cup of coffee or some water. The front-end representative had no recommendations for a good place to eat while we waited for the room.
Once checked in, they never informed that housekeeping service had to be requested prior to. This is something I would inform the guest at the check-in time.
The shower doors do not close properly, so I had to place towels on the floor to prevent anyone from slipping and falling.
On my last day in this beautiful city with temperatures under rhe 20°, we arrived at 11pm to take a shower and noticed there was no hot water, I called the front end to inquire about this and to my surprise, the staff knew about the situation but the company that would be able to repair the heaters would not respond to the emergency until 7am next morning. An apology was extended, nothing else.
I have to say that the investment I put towards staying in this hotel has been, unfortunately, the biggest disappointment I have had with Marriott hotels.
The Marriott culture is why we pay and are loyal to the brand, and I would never expect this kind of service or facility from such a great brand. Marriott culture should always be the same, no matter where you are. The city/country culture should not be dictating how the guests are attended.
Hopefully, the hotel owners, or Marriott, attempt to correct some of these simple but very...
Read moreThe room was pretty nice and most of the staff were friendly, but that was about all that was good. There “complimentary breakfast” consisted of yogurt, a bagel, and a granola bar. Not only was it small and cheap, I had to fill a form every night so I could get breakfast the next day. There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom when we got there, so we had to call the front desk to get some. I later overheard one of the employees tell another guest that they do not offer room service unless a guest stays more than 3 nights. Of course, my husband and I stayed 3 nights. I later had to take more toiletries from a room service attendant in the hallway because they never entered our room. Last but not least, our car was towed while staying there. When I checked in the front desk worker told me nothing regarding parking. There was a small parking lot in front of the hotel and there was a parking deck underneath, but it was closed off. One night the parking lot was full so we parked in a parking lot parallel to the full lot in front of the hotel. Only a fence separated the two lots and their was a sign that read “private parking” so I assumed it was for the hotel. Especially since the first lot was tiny and no one communicated anything about parking. I told the front desk worker what had occurred and she took no responsibility. She told me that I should have communicated to her that the lot was full and the hotel was not responsible for the tow. Funny because nothing was communicated to me, and they had parking closed off in the parking deck. They couldn’t even tell me who towed the car. I had to get an Uber to the towing company and pay $400 between the tow and the ticket. I was also late too a wedding which I was a groomsman in. To sum it all up the breakfast is a joke, there is no room service, and they do not care about parking. They believe in closing off parking so the guests are forced to park elsewhere and get towed. I payed the hotel so I could handle my own room service, get a prison sized breakfast, and get my car towed. I Would not recommend I’m this place to anyone. The front desk associate when the vehicle was towed also did not show any sympathy and offered no assistance to my husband and I when trying to figure out where the vehicle was. The front desk associate was not busy at the time yet she did not offer any...
