STAY AWAY
Straightaway when you’re walking up you can see the building is old and not well-maintained. As soon as you open the door, you’re met with a dank, wet basement smell. As you look around you see the paint is peeling, metal fixtures rusting, floor is chipping, and furniture scratched. The accessories in the room are scavenged from other hotels.
The room was old, dirty, and we were hit with a wet basement smell. The blanket/coverlet was covered with stains, so we pulled it off and didn’t use it. The sheets appeared/smelled to be clean except for a few hairs.
The bed was ROCK HARD. My husband woke up every 30 minutes because it was too hard to sleep on. I woke up several times - my joints were hurting and my hands fell asleep.
The bathroom wasn’t cleaned. There was dirt splattered on the walls and floor. There is black mold on the ceiling.
The chairs both had multiple stains and the floor has old cigarette burns. The carpet looks like it had never been vacuumed. I kept my crocs on the entire time.
We didn’t feel comfortable hanging out in the room, so we hung out in the Starbucks just up the road. It was way cooler, cleaner, and comfortable.
We ended up going to target to get Lysol wipes and spray. I sprayed everything and wiped all the surfaces.
We were only in Cleveland for one night after a show, and we only used the room for sleeping, so we thought we could handle it for one night. We got back to the room late after the show, and didn’t feel like trying to find another hotel late at night.
I wouldn’t stay here. Pay a few dollars extra and get a...
Read moreThe gentlemen at the front desk was nice , and polite . My spouse and I had went back to our room, checked our room first thing. We then saw blood on the blanket on the bed, it was crusted ; it seemed to us perhaps the blanket was not washed . We asked the man at the front desk for a new blanket for our blanket had blood on it . He had apologized many times , had said it’s been so busy and it’s hard getting cleaning done . We made no fuss , put the new bedding on . Later on this night we were laying in bed when we both decided to get up and eat a snack before we closed our eyes. My spouse came to my side of the bed to only see what appeared to be an orange critter, we then looked closely to only find this was a bed bug indeed. We took pictures , videos . Had to shower and pack our items in a trash bag. We then left quietly , my spouse asked for a refund upfront but unfortunately we had to go online to do so, the next shift had came in so we were speaking to a different gentlemen. He would not give us his name. I recommend always using “travel guard” , where you most likely can always get a refund in certain circumstances. Hope these pictures help and prevent those who would like to stay in a clean environment. Our room was 120, there was a jetted tub . Room 124 also...
Read moreI recently stayed at Southridge Inn, and it’s clear this used to be a corporate chain hotel now run by private owners. Unfortunately, the property is in desperate need of a face-lift. The room was small, and while some work had been done on the walls, it was easy to see where repairs were poorly handled with messy patchwork and painting. The desk chair was broken, and every time I sat in it, it slammed down to its lowest setting, making it difficult to use.
More concerning was the mold on the ceiling in the bathroom—this should be addressed immediately for safety reasons. The lighting in the room was inconsistent, with mismatched lightbulbs in the lamps that gave off different brightness levels and color warmths.
The parking lot was another issue—there were no lights, and with ongoing construction and maintenance around the property, it felt unsafe at night. Navigating around equipment and materials in an unlit lot was unsettling.
On the positive side, the staff was very eager to please. I requested an early check-in due to a flight change, and they were accommodating, which helped make my stay a little smoother. While the service was friendly, the property itself needs serious updates to be more comfortable and...
