I met a friend here upon her suggestion. She had been here few times with her husband and says it was ok. My server, Kellie, started out fine. I ordered Strawberry Margarita. She had to check to see if they had the mix which was slightly annoying to start off because this makes me think the bar is probably not well run and stocked. The drink was ok but I didn’t want another one. For entree I ordered salmon, mashed potatoes and green beans. The salmon was dry but it was ok and I ate it. I don’t recommend it. The green beans were ok but I didn’t eat them, the mashed potatoes were so bad, I asked Kellie if I could have side salad instead. She told me yes for a $2 up charge. I was a bit surprised that one, she didn’t apologize for the bad potatoes and two, that she was still going to charge $2 when the potatoes were awful. I didn’t tell her how bad they were, I just said they weren’t good. They smelled and tasted old and were somehow burnt like they came scraped up from the bottom of dish they were made in a week ago? Idk. How do you burn mashed potatoes? When Kellie came back with my salad, my friend asked (very nicely) if it was necessary for the up charge because the only reason I ordered it was due to the bad potatoes. She restated the policy and was firm on that $2. I just kinda thought it was funny and muttered “lame.” Maybe I shouldn’t have said that, but it was lame. She didn’t even offer to “go ask the manager” or anything. Whatever. But When she came back at some point to clear the plates, I asked for a Mike’s Hard Lemonade. She came back and told me they were out. I was so annoyed by the whole experience at this point, I said something like, “this is a bar right?” Well, apparently you are supposed to take a crappy bar, bad food, sit at your sticky table with poor customer service and like it because she blew up at me. She said, “Look I don’t make the food or order the alcohol so you don’t have to be rude to me!” I said, “Well I’m sorry I wasn’t trying to be rude to you.” She just stood there fuming for a minute staring at me then finally asked if I wanted a tall or a short. I could literally feel her angry energy and was just kinda sitting there in shock. Well, she had another server bring our second round of drinks and then the bill. No explanation of anything, no one coming to see if I was upset, nothing. I made two comments that I guess I shouldn’t have but really were pretty low level rude and not meant to be directed at her personally. I felt kinda bad, but kinda not. I left her over 25% tip out of guilt for upsetting her, not that anyone there cared if I was upset lol. I’ve worked as a server and you need pretty thick skin for that job. If I can upset her that much, what the heck does she do when someone is actually very rude and unreasonable? I don’t recommend this establishment despite...
Read moreMy fiance and I dined in here on 8/24 on their outdoor patio for a, for us, "rotting" dinner, and spent $44 and some change and left a $5 cash tip. Rotting is the hip way of saying, you're going all out on eating, drinking, and all around acting like crap. From an expectations perspective, because she had dined in there before, she delivered those expectations to me (generally neutral), and I went into this tavern for the first time with an open mind.
The service was less than positive in a way that at one point I genuinely felt like we and I was being targeted. We walked in the back and made our way into the hostess stand and nobody was there, so we made our way to the patio where there was signs of life. After standing around for a few minutes, trying to make eye contact with bartender and gentleman doing bar work, I asked the bartender if it was seat yourself and she said oh sure, and shouted to the crew outside that a couple was coming out. Oh sure? Oh sure? Excuse me? Weird thing to say if you ask me.
After sitting ourselves on the patio, the gentleman got our drinks right away, almost instantaneously. And then after 10 minutes goes by, another server helping the other tables asked us if (not naming name) took our order. We said no, she immediately got his attention in front of us, and then he took our order right then and there. During our meal, our waiter helped us to one refill although my cup was close to empty at the time he took my fiance's to fill up. And that was it. After we finished eating and napkins were in both of our bowls, it was then another 10 minutes before he assisted us with a box and check.
Atmosphere was "bar rescue" like where servers are sitting with patrons, and multi tasking behind the bar. Food was as strictly middle of the pack. Wings were good, but how can you mess up wings? Packaged frozen pretzels okay, and baked potato, not great.
Overall, I don't see myself going back. I felt like I was on a reality TV show where Jon Taffer was observing before telling the bar owner he's coming to assess...
Read moreI wish I could have given 5 stars maybe when I go back. I always try a place more than once when I didn't get the 5 star the first time. Ok so sandwiches were amazing. Fries good but a bit greasy. The artichoke dip. Was just ok. And unfortunately brought with our dinners not before as appetizers should be. Drinks were amazing. Server, (didn't get his name)was very nice and cordial and was very quick to fix hubby sandwich when it came out loaded with veggies when should have been mushrooms only. As far as the atmosphere....well that is always so important to me. A beautiful day we wanted to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. We picked the table by their lovely fountain. Ambiance outside was very nice. Unfortunately, there was no fresh air because, just as a lot of restaurants are now doing, ....they've made their entire patio area (covered and uncovered...) the smoking area. Tends to just ruin the smell and taste of the food. Had we known this we would have just eaten inside. The restaurant/bar itself was beautiful and clean and offered keno l,ottery , and bingo pull tabs. Lots of TVs inside and out of you are there to catch a game. Probably the best bacon chkn sand I've ever had...(and I'm picky about my sandwiches) we...
