I chose this hotel for two reasons. First, it was offered through Aadvantage Hotels which is an American Airlines brand. This crap consolidator holds you hostage to overpriced hotels if you want any chance at earning status on the airline. American continues to race to the bottom by cutting benefits and raising requirements for their "loyalty" program. Hostage program is more like it. Be that as it may, I chose this hotel to maximize "loyalty points" necessary for maintaining status. The room I chose CLEARLY shows a jacuzzi bath tub in not one, but TWO photos. Given the horrible experience I have had with this site, I was unsurprised to arrive to a normal bath tub. I mentioned it to the front desk clerk who told me that it is a common complaint. I raised the issue with Dalia, the day manager, the following day and showed her pictures of what I was expecting. She scoured the fine print, telling me that the "amenities" did not indicate there was a jacuzzi tub. Actually, the amenities didn't indicate a bath tub at all, as you can see from the attached photos. Complaints to the consolidator (Aadvantage, but actually Agoda hiding as Aadvantage) did the same despicable thing .. tried to refer me to the "list of amenities". ||||Here's the thing. The site shows 9 different rooms, with photos that I would rationally assume show images of what to expect in each room. Both Agoda and this horrible management team at the property (which given the culturally 'frugal' nature of the brand owners) always seek to give the lowest value for the dollar spent by the consumer. I should have known better seeing the brand name of the hotel.||||Take a look at the pictures, and you tell me what your expectation for booking this room would have been. Hey, Agoda, you tone-deaf hacks ... if you don't expect a customer to bitch about not getting an amenity shown in a photograph, DON'T SHOW THAT PHOTOGRAPH. Clearly you have other images - lots of them - as indicated from photos in other rooms. ||||I will be raising this with the Federal Trade Commission who are tasked with investigating bait and switch advertising which is an illegal trade practice. The fact that the night manager indicated that it is a continuing trend that customers are angry about purchasing rooms and not getting the expected amenities is a clear pattern of abuse. ||||Beware to anyone staying at a "Choice Hotel" or booking through Agoda. They could care less about you as a customer. They are owned by a cultural group notorious for doing everything on the cheap, and customer satisfaction is at the bottom of their priority list. ||||Emails to the general manager were totally ignored, and attempts to dispute the issue with Agoda were met with a GFY attitude. Unsurprising. ||||The photos indicate a list of amenities (nothing indicating there is a bath tub - but photos clearly show jacuzzi), and other pictures from the room. I have also posted photos from a double bed suite that clearly shows a NORMAL bath tub ... so, any suggestion that this site does NOT have photos to depict each of the suites...
Read moreMy stay over at Comfort Suites Oakbrook Terrrace(IL074). Its address is 17W445 Roosevelt Rd, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181has been unpleasant. The staffs were rude , unprofessional and the location was difficult to locate, Uber drove around extra 10 mins to locate their address.
When I arrived on October 21 at 7:00 AM, I asked the front desk clerk if I could check-in early. The front desk clerk answered that it will be $50 extra for early check-in. After I checked in, I found out the hotel had marijuana smell. Then I went back to the front desk to request for room change. The clerk told me that there was no vacant rooms available at the moment but I could switch to a new hotel room on the next day.
Next day, I spoke to the African desk lady, Nicole to request room change. She refused to help because their hotel policy does not allow room change after checking in. I told her that the previous clerk, David promised me to change room for me the next day and I reserved the king size bed through Hotels.con
I went back to my room and shared my bad experience on the hotel survey. Ten minutes later, Nicole got infuriated at me over phone and asked why I wrote a bad review for the hotel. Because I wrote a bad review, they agreed to change the room for me. She asked me to pick up the keys from the desk for another room. However, after I checked into the new room, it was not ready. Facial tissue and regular coffee bags were missing. So I went to ask the house keeper who was busy cleaning. I knocked at door to get her attention but she did not answer. So I left the decaf coffee bags in the cart and picked up a box of facial tissue for my room.
Fifteen minutes later, I received a call from from front desk clerk, Stephanie. She complained that I left the decaf coffee bags at the housekeeper’s cart. I explained to her that I needed to switch the decaf coffee bags with regular coffee bags with the housekeeper. However, she did not bother to listen to my explanation and hung up on my call. Shortly after, Nicole called me and asked me to check out of my room today. I replied that if she can refund my hotel fee for today and my remaining stay, then I will check out. She retaliated that I need to check out now, otherwise she will call the police to escort me out.
While I was looking for another hotel to settle, three police man showed up to my hotel room and asked me to leave. The hotel charged me two nights of stay. It includes one night I did not stay, late check out fee of $50 after they called the police office to ask me to leave my room at 2:30pm, room service charge of $29.60 with state tax, and occupancy tax for $33.16 that i didn’t order any room service or damage property. I paid $209.00 for staying one night at the 2-star hotel, plus humiliation.
Please don’t stay at this hotel, staffs are corrupted, unethical behavior and many of housekeepers there don’t speak English . It was a nightmare experience. I attached the police officer card for my case...
Read moreI'd recommend booking directly with the hotel's site. You may have better luck. I matched up the rooms from the hotel site with the rooms on booking.com. I reserved a room with a jetted tub. The next day I called the hotel to make sure I had a room with a jetted tub. The employee verified I did. I even recorded the conversation. We checked in, and the emplyee said it was a room without a jetted tub. A jetted tub room would cost $80 - $100 more per night. The employee asked what day I called. It didn't matter that I had the date and recording. They told me to call booking.com which I did. Booking.com called the hotel while I stayed on hold. She said I could upgrade for $80 - $100 just like the employee said at check-in. Her excuse was booking.com only reserves the rooms. I guess booking.com doesn't make sure they book special/upgraded rooms, and neither does the hotel even when noted in the comments which are given to the hotel. Neither company would take accountability. I could tell I was going to get nowhere with the hotel or booking.com so I gave up. For this reason I will not stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it. Employees were friendly but unwilling to look into the booking or booking.com's reservation/info. He only wanted to get us checked in as fast as possible.
Check in 3p. Check out 12p. The website said there was a pool and fitness center that I did not see or verify were open. There was one elevator for three floors. There were around 38 rooms per floor. Coffee was available all day with two kinds of coffee mate creamer. Breakfast had a good selection: yogurt, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, waffle maker, sausage, potatoes, three types of cereal, bagels, tea, fresh fruit. Breakfast 630a - 930a. The breakfast area was kept clean.
There was a balcony, but the width was so small you could not fit a small chair. I put my shoe in the picture so one can get an idea of how narrow it is. A larger person would have trouble fitting on the balcony. It was nice that we were able to keep the sliding door open.
When you change the temperature on the thermostat, it said it would take about 5 minutes to kick in. It was more like 10-15 minutes. The selection to keep the fan on was locked off. The lights in the living room, bathroom sink, and bathroom were all motion sensor. You could turn them off. But they reset themselves. When we moved too much in the bed it would turn on the light in the next room which happened a lot. A few times the motion sensor light by the bathroom sink would turn on which was about 6' from the bed and lit up the bedroom pretty well (more like pretty badly). The shower temp got really hot, which was nice. The shower head had good pressure. Shampoo, conditioner we're provided...
