Newly opened place that needs to work out staffing and kitchen issues. We were a party of 5 that went on a Monday night our first choices from the tandoori/grill and curry section were not available and the food took forever to arrive. The delay in food was most likely because there were already two other parties of 4 or more people that were there before us and more people kept coming while we were there. Only two servers and probably just one person in the kitchen. If this is the situation on a Monday night I can't imagine what the place is like during the busy times.
Now everyone can agree that it's annoying when your order doesn't come all at once but the wait we experienced was egregious. Naan, salaan and haleem came before the goat biryani and the chicken biryani was the last to arrive. Almost had to cancel the biryani because it was taking so long. We had to go up and ask where our biryani was and little later the goat biryani arrives. 40 mins into waiting for the chicken biryani I tell them to cancel it and they tell us that the reason its taking so long is because it went to the wrong table. And it was delivered to the wrong table because one of the servers was new and it was his second day. Also the table didn't say anything about the extra food they were happy they got free biryani. Mistakes happen and the most basic thing a restaurant can do is inform the table what happened and apologize.
The biryani was not worth the wait. Everyone agreed that the haleem was good and there was also consensus on the mutton masala. Everything else was just ok. The outdoor seating area is nice, the indoor seating was also good, I also liked that they had a handwash sink that is in-between the bathrooms but those are not reasons why anyone should visit a restaurant. Hopefully the service and food improves because the...

Read moreI visited Hyderabad House for their Iftar buffet, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience overall. Here’s my rating for the dishes I tried:
Milk Roohafzah – 10/10 (One of the best I’ve had!)
Mutton Samosa – 10/10
Haleem – 7/10
Pakora – 8/10
Biryani – 1/10 (Lacked basic flavors, a complete letdown)
Chicken Curry – 1/10 (Bland, no depth of flavor)
Tikka – 1/10 (Tasted like it was marinated and cooked quickly just for refilling)
Major Issues:
Food was not hot, which affected the overall experience. They need to find a way to keep buffet items warm.
Refilling was poorly managed—Mutton Biryani was replaced with Chicken Biryani, and Tikka was swapped out for Chicken 65.
The Biryani lacked even basic flavors, making it a major disappointment.
Chicken Curry was bland, and the Tikka didn’t taste fresh, likely rushed for refilling.
For a group of four, the buffet cost around $130 with tax, but we barely ate food worth $20. They seemed unprepared for the Sunday crowd, and I hope they take this feedback seriously. We did not try other dishes or sweets so can not comment on those.
On the bright side, the Milk Roohafzah was exceptional, one of the best I’ve had!
I didn’t want to bring this up in front of other customers, but I genuinely hope they improve—especially in maintaining food temperature, better organization, and improving taste. Hyderabadi food deserves...
