Falls Market Inn & Suite — Hotel in Ohiopyle

I am reviewing the restaurant only and laughing to myself, as people here reviewing say the food is excellent? This place is a dump at best, but the only option after a long drive, as all the other places were CLOSED on a Tuesday at lunchtime. Just walking in the door did not bode well, as it was chaos, very confusing and people shouting everywhere. We got a pizza and fries and soft drinks. After I paid, we had to go the whole way into the little store to get our own drinks. Totally bizarre system here. The extremely overpriced pizza (I get it, it is a tourist trap and their wraps are $14, what??), was awful. Honestly one of the worst I have ever had. It was greasy, loaded with that gummy cheese that you cannot chew well, and the crust gave you that cardboard/frozen taste. The fries were okay, but the cheese we got was gummy and greasy with no flavor. At least the soft drinks tasted okay, even though we had to fetch them from ourselves from inside the store. Called on March 21, 2025 to cancel a reservation due to a family emergency. Was told there is a $20 cancelation fee when on site states full refund before 2 weeks. It has been almost 3 weeks since cancelation still no refund. Emailed several times regarding this issue with no response back, I even called several times and was told i would get a call back from the person in charge. Still haven't heard back. Makes me question my confidence in the Falls Market Inn. And an update. Was charged for the room on 4/7. Called again on 4/8 when speaking to someone they " I will speak to the boss and IF they call you back..." My retort was "you mean when..." Needless to say 2 minutes after the 5th phone call and 4th email I did get a receipt for a refund. I will give it 10 business days and if I do not see the refund on my credit card, then further action will have to be taken. Our stay was clean and comfortable. Our room has it's own bathroom, small, but recently remodeled. The room had a tiny refrigerator and the common kitchen was semi-equipped with a bag of ice in refrig. General store in the same building was great for a quick breakfast, stocking up on protein bars and a premade sandwich for the trail the next day. They also have delicious homemade chocolates in the General Store! Bike storage was semi-secure in that you had to have a code to get in the door, but beyond that anyone staying there had access. It worked out fine and wouldn't be concerned if I stayed here again. Easy access to the trail. The only negative it is that it was really hard to figure out where and how to check-in. They sent an e-mail but it was only 45 minutes before check-in. Who checks their e-mail on the trail? Once I asked at the check-out counter in the general store it was a breeze. Would stay...
