Twisted Spoke Cafe — Restaurant in Ohiopyle

Visited the upstairs on June 27. Gave an order for 1 burger and 1 sandwich. Was told it would be ½ hour. We got our drinks and sat. 1 hour later I went to check.... they overlooked our order. And never made it!! As I was talking to the "manager at the window" they started to make it. Now it was over 1 hour since we ordered. They called a number 20 orders past ours. I asked for a refund... She wasn't sure how to do it on the register. I had to sign 3 times. (I will check card for refund) She then said she called owner i said ill take if free but I'm not paying. Owner said they could give to me at half price! Really. I don't think so. Finally got my refund and left... Unbelievable!!! I was at the same place in July of 2020 with a few friends. Same thing happened. They forgot to make my sandwich. My friends almost done! I checked and had to wait till they made it!!! Almost every order they called there was an issue of something missing or not right!! Nothing to do with no workers. There was a manager cooking and another girl there and 2-3 more at window waiting for the orders. Why it would take so long for a turkey sandwich and a burger ill never know. Parking- there is parking close by. Food- our youghness monster sandwich was good, could have used some more sauteed peppers and onion and spicy peppers. But otherwise the sandwich was good, about 10" boogie bun packed with steak. The Mediterranean bowl was good but a little too sweet. The sauce would be more savory to be Mediterranean but this sauce was sweet and not the best pairing in our opinion, maybe you prefer a sweeter sauce and then you might love the Mediterranean bowl.

Beer was cold in a can.

Fries were cooked in old oil and were a little soft and mushy. Not enough to complain but enough that I would ask about grease age or of they are crunchy.

Overall we though the food was good but nothing special and not great.

Service initially looked like it might be an issue but once somebody came over then service was very good.

Atmosphere was good but it being a Wednesday in Aug it was a little slow, instead of bustling with tourists recounting their rafting trip, hike, bike, or even running. But no only a few people on the porch. But see how good the service was 😁.
