My visit was at breakfast. A sign on the door said mask must be worn to enter; I thought good they're concerned about their customers safety. And what I first saw as I walked in were a few customers standing, waiting for their order and all wearing mask; again I felt reassured. Then it all fell apart, most of the women in the kitchen preparing the food had their mask pulled under their chin (covering neither their nose or mouth) and they were talking a lot while prepping the food; if any of them were COVID contagious there's a possibility they would have spread it to their customers and the others working around them. Then a local walks in, not wearing a mask, they greet him by name and say nothing about his violation of the sign on the door, how could they, they're were violating the regulation too. I placed my order but was conflicted because of my concern regarding the safety of the food. Once I received my food I had to go to another area to pay for it. I paid with a credit card which required that I sign the screen with my finger (the same screen touched by every other person that paid with a credit card). When I was finished the transaction I asked if there was sanitizer as I wanted to clean my finger; I was told no, they don't provide sanitizer. I ate part of my sandwich but was so uncomfortable about the situation that I threw most of it away. Once I placed the order it seemed bad to leave, once I paid for the sandwich it seemed bad to waste the food and throw it way--but in the end I threw most of it away. I left feeling like the staff in this restaurant had a complete disregard for the safety of their customers and felt unsafe eating...
Read moreSo I have been going here for years, food is great! However I am disappointed because last Saturday October 26, 2024 my son and I ordered food. The female cashier was coughing and hacking, I was apprehensive to giver her my debt card and I tjought to myself I need to sanitize my card, but I didn't. Low and behold, on tuesday I had covid! So disappointed that someone obviously sick would work when they had covid. Anyone else get sick?
So your response to my concern was that no one was sick? Did you ask me what she looked like? Did you even act concerned or that you would check into it? You did not seem concerned that this could have possibly happened, you only wanted to debunk my review. Look, like I said, I like your restaurant, out of all the places to eat in Ohiopyle, I eat at your place every trip to Ohiopyle. I did not imagine the slightly overweight lady with thick shoulder length, brown, blonde hair running the cash register coughing all over my american express card. There was an older lady getting the drinks at the time. My son was with me, he can verify that she was coughing. How can you say no one was sick when you probably were not there. Ask your employee who was coughing, did she call off the next day because she was sick, did she test positive for covid. If I was coughing as bad as she was I would not have taken the chance to get someone else sick. So there are the details that you did not ask for.
Again, did anyone else get sick who was...
Read moreIf you are looking for a sit down restaurant this is not your place. Looks nice from the outside, don't be fooled, concession stand food at best. You order food at a window. I asked if there were servers for tipping purposes and was clearly told there were…that was a lie. If I’m being served I will tip. If I’m not being served…why?…That’s your job. Well, I left an $8 tip to pick my food up at a window.
Update: Thank you for your reply. This happened at “firefly on the plaza”. I’m assuming you are the same company? Please correct me if I’m wrong and I will add this review to their company. If you are the same, you should probably pay your employees better if they’re worth it so they do not have rely on tips. Shame on you for making them work in 90 degrees, give them some air. I never said you advertised sit down. I have been to places just like it that have runners bring food once it’s ordered and refill drinks which is why I asked the question when deciding on a tip. The point is that I wasn’t told the truth and it’s upsetting so I’m simply stating my experience. I asked a question and was LIED to by that wonderful cashier that you admire so much and apparently pay...
