A frustrating experience. Drinks are priced affordably, place is clean, staff is friendly, but the drinks were not quite right and ticketing / handoff was chaotic. If in the area, I would recommend Bittersweet in the Falls nearby.
I ordered a 24 oz iced mocha with oatmilk and a 24oz iced latte with vanilla at 11:46 AM. Drinks were called out "24 oz iced latte with vanilla?", "8 oz hot latte?", and I waited patiently as it was busy on a Sunday morning. I got the iced mocha around 12:00, and waited a bit longer for my other drink.
After a group of six that came in after me got all their drinks, I realized either my other drink had gotten lost and/or someone had taken it. I went to the counter at 12:05 and told the cashier (man with hat and goatee) "Hello - I believe my other drink is missing. On the ticket, you can see it says 1 of 2. Would it be possible to send it through again and make it? It was a 24 oz iced latte with vanilla."
He nods, takes my iced mocha, and talks to the baristas to explain what happened. I believe he is prioritizing my drink and all is right. At 12:20, the iced vanilla latte comes out and I need to ask for the mocha that was still sitting behind their counter. It wasn't remade, but it's fine because I just wanted to get out of there after waiting so long. It ended up being so bad that neither I nor my fiancee could drink it - I am not sure what happened but it did not taste like any other iced mocha with oatmilk my fiancee and I have ever had before.
I think the problem is that they're calling out drinks by what they are while also accepting online orders. It's impossible to self manage with other customers while it is busy and new people are walking in and out and grabbing drinks as they believe they are theirs. My suggestion is to take names with orders and either write them on the label or call out the name when someone's...
ย ย ย Read moreThe coffee is pretty good. The best description I have for the customer service/atmosphere in the shop is "lackadaisical".
I was there two days in a row. The first day the gentleman did a decent job. The espresso was pretty good and the latte was also tasty.
The second day the lady behind the counter was not on point. There was no one in the shop when she took our order. She did not greet a number of people who entered the shop after us. It appears that she was having some problems with the espresso machine while she was attempting to make our orders. However it's hard to tell because she avoided eye contact while talking on the phone (it sounded like she was trying to get some help).
15+ minutes after ordering our drinks without any evidence that they were going to be made we made the decision to leave without the coffee. Problems arise and things don't always work correctly but it's unfortunate that there was no communication with the customers which left a bad taste.
On a positive note walk across the bridge to Wilderness Voyageurs and order from there coffee kiosk outside the store- very good service and a tasty...
ย ย ย Read moreIโd like to give feedback because I would like to see this business thrive. So itโs not a bad review just constructive criticism. When I went into the shop it has a wonderful atmosphere cute and clean. The lady that was taking orders was very nice and friendly and warm. But there were only two people working. The other girl was a little behind and fighting with the lady taking orders. It was very crowded and EVERYONE heard her fighting with the lady making it very awkward for all the customers in there. It was very uncomfortable. I understand that lady was doing the orders all by herself but that was not handled in a professional manner. If this coffee shop is gonna thrive that should probably be addressed.
However, what I ordered was very good! The only thing I recommend here is if you have tapioca balls in your drinks that you have a special straw for them. Not only did I wait about 20 mins for my tea but I couldnโt drink it fully because it kept getting stuck on the tapioca.
I hope next time I come to visit these slight...
