Even if they weren't an efficient German machine, I'd give Aldi five stars for this pizza alone. First off, it's big. Really big. It claims to be 16 inches and I fully believe it to be. Two slices fill me up. Second, the ingredients are delicious. Fresh orange and yellow peppers adorn meats and a perfect crust. Third, the thing is only $6.50. $6.50!!!! I can easily get four meals out of this thing. I usually pair it with a small Italian salad. Man on man is it good. I've recommended it to countless individuals. Okay, one friend of mine who likes cheap pizza almost as much as I do. This thing is fresh, it sells out often, and it's cheaper than a frozen pizza. AND TWICE THE SIZE. It's good. Really good. Sometimes, I'll spice it up with a little siracha.
Besides the pizza, the veggies are fresh and good. The premise food is good. And the prices are phenomenal. I've done a little comparison and their squash comes out to be just under $1 per pound, where as Walmart has it $1.38. Hyvee is $1.60.
The cart thing is a little weird, but I get it. They don't have to hire a cart fetcher. And I really like that they allow their clerks to sit down. Why don't other retailers allow this?
Also, la croix is cheaper here than anywhere else, and their knockoff la croix is just as good, maybe better. It's $2.50 for a 12...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSince late May, early June, we have been frequenting this location with great success. The items we shop for have been in stock and the employees are friendly, but since October, that has changed.
The Bentonās chewy chocolate chip cookies, the peanut butter crackers, peanut butter bars, and the jalapeƱo kettle chips have changed in flavor. It seems like the QA process on their food has gone down. Many times, we get the food home and the chips and crackers are stale right after we open them. The cookies are lighter in color and do not taste as good as before. This is disappointing because we like to purchase out snack foods from here but that may have to change.
I do want to shoutout the cashier that always checks us out. He is always smiling and efficient at his job. He never complains and treats the customers with respect and kindness every time. The other employees are rude and short with customers that ask for help. If they see someone walking around looking lost, they should at least ask them if they need help. Regardless, we will be putting our shopping visits on pause with this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI haven't been to an Aldi store in 10 - 15 years. I shopped there for many years when my children were young. I must say, they really look nice. The store looks so much more like a quality store than a discount bin store. I would shop at an Aldi more often if there was one in Gardner. Once we got the big W store it was nice to not have to drive to Olathe anymore. For the most part the quality of there food was excellent. Shopping was quicker since you didn't have to compare prices on different brands. There's only 1 brand, Aldi. I also remember the people at the check out were CRAZY fast. I always wished they would teach other stores how to do that. Lol. The big thing to remember is have quarters for unlocking the cart (you get them back when you return the cart). Have plenty of your own grocery bags/boxes. They have paper but they're not free. Be prepared to bag your own groceries, just like at self check. The actual shopping experience is the same as any other store. Go For It! You won't be...
