Heart and Soulfood Eatery — Restaurant in Palatka

They have good food, but I'd say management is lacking. Had eaten there a couple of times and decided to call in for a takeout order. After placing the order on the phone I was asked "okay I got all that, now can you text me your order?" Which I thought was odd, but whatever, so I texted the order in and everything seemed good to go for me to go pickup the food.

About 20 minutes into my drive out there (I live about 30 mins away) I get a text message saying "We have ribs and brisket, which one do you want?" Mind you, ribs and brisket was not something I ordered at all, and this was after not only calling in the order but also texting it in. There was no "hey sorry we're out of everything you ordered even though 20 minutes ago we told you everything was good to go, would you like something else?" Just a simple "here's what you're going to get, so what's it going to be?"

Needless to say I ignored them and drove back home and went elsewhere for dinner. Never been back ever since and, for the most part, don't plan on it. It's just...

Mr Tyrone and his crew stepped up and catered my son’s funeral for the community of Putnam County. There was no definite number on the amount of guests who would be attending the repast but that didn’t stop them from taking on the challenge. Everything was great! As soon as they ran out of food the first round, they were ready with a second round of different food choices. Everyone I spoke to had nothing but great things to say and really enjoyed the food. I’m extremely grateful and proud of our community for coming together in my family’s time of need. Heart and Soulfood Eatery made one of the worst days of my life a little easier and stress free during the repast. I give them a 10/10 and HIGHLY recommend anyone in the area to check them out or if you see their food truck, stop and grab a plate to go. Thank you, thank you, thank you again. I’m forever...

Had the jerk chicken with sides of collards and jambalaya rice. Son had brisket and Mac-n-cheese. All of the food was delicious. Mine had a good heat to it and very flavorful. Son said the brisket was delicious and perfectly cooked. Told him I would have like to try it and he said “that’s how good it was” [raised eyebrow]. Highest of compliments. Very friendly staff and the tunes were good as well.

Another trip with some of the guys from work. They are very picky. A meatloaf, pulled pork, and Jerk chicken meal that brought a request for catering at the yard. Great mains and great sides. Delicious...
