We needed an extra night's accommodation, and booked this through booking.com. It's advertised as providing comfort and luxury. In truth expectations weren't too high but as it is attached to the Desert Springs Hotel and it's a marriot. .well for almost $500 USD I thought it would be well serviced. The room is ok. A little old but hey, it's next to the pool and location is about as far from the main hotel as possible and still be in the same property but close to rancho mirage. Now...we are a family of four so I'm fairness we were making so with a King and a sofa bed. The sofa bed comes not me up ..ok not too much hassle but there's no duvet, no comforter just a very thin blanket is it's either ask for more or paper rock scissors as to who tries to stay warm. So we called to ask for a duvet or comforter. We got an AI service that said try texting this number. We texted and we're told 'we don't have duvets we can get you a blanket within the hour. It's 1015pm we have kids. I try the number again and tell the robot I want to speak to a human at which point, having talked about how great US service is, we got someone on their bad day. "I texted your wife your getting blanket". Ok well the main beds have duvets cans you get us one of those please. The air conditioning makes the room pretty cool and our kids are cold (yes we could turn it off but you know where that goes..I'm too hot!!! And it's true) anyway I say look please get us a duvet and I'm told it not policy. I say it's a dumb policy she says yeah. Totally unhelpful and totally unsympathetic. Anyway, thank you Google reviews for being my way of venting and if you got this far GIVE THIS PLACE A WIDE FREAKING BIRTH they don't give a hoot about service or comfort and there's far better places to spend your $$. We have been coming to PD for over a decade and this is our first and worst experience here. Marriot Villas do some training on customer service. If I was an owner I'd be pissed but hey I'd also be trapped which is probably why you don't give a crap.

Marriott’s Desert Spring Villas II is a timeshare development on the same block as the JW Marriott. You can book villas for a week at a time through Vrbo and probably other sites; Les was very helpful. You have access to the golf courses, tennis courts, gym, pools etc, but not the spa for some reason. Check in at the same desk as for the DSV I area. You pay greens fees, which are high but they include a cart and the range. They have good clubs for rent so you don’t have to schlep your clubs. You also pay court fees on the grass tennis courts, but not the hard courts or clay courts - one free hour a day before 5 PM. The whole resort is very secure, quiet and immaculate. The rooms are very nice, in great condition and comfortable. The back porches have great views of the beautiful golf course. The bathroom is roomy with a big shower/tub. The king bed is roomy. The hide-a-bed is a little small - a double, not a queen. 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units have laundry units built in. Studios do not, but there is a small laundry facility in the pool area. There is a grilling area between units. We definitely enjoy DSV II and we would enjoy staying there again.

We've stayed here several on occasions, mainly as a quick one-night getaway just for a change of scenery. We always enjoy it. We've spent nights in both the smaller rooms (more like a nice hotel room) and the one-bedroom villas. Both are always clean and comfortable. We have never had an issue with service. Once or twice the shower head was clogged up, I assume due to hard water calcium buildup. Annoying, but for a night we could live with it. We've never had anything but nice golf course views. The small negative to that is the patios are very small, and there isn't much privacy between you and your neighbor. We've never had an upstairs room so I can't speak to the balconies. It's a good value compared to other resort properties in the area.

The checkin line was long around 4:15pm and only 1 person worked the front desk for awhile. First they gave us a room that was still being cleaned so we had to drive back to the front desk to get a different room. Then they gave us a room with a constant loud vibration. We contacted the front desk and they sent an engineer to take a look. He showed us a picture of 8 AC units right above our room. They shouldn’t even be assigning anyone to a room with 8 vibrating AC united right above. Turn the room into storage or something. To make it even worse the room is connected to a suite so we could hear them eating, washing plates, blowing their nose, etc since 6am in the morning. No sound proof at all. The King room with sofa bed is tiny. About 200 sq feet. Nowhere to put our luggage on so we had to use the two chairs. No coffee table. No mirrors outside of the bathroom. No full length mirrors. The bathroom is long and narrow. The place does not have a resort feel at all. It’s just an apartment complex with several small pools and a big pool. Food options are very limited. I wonder why people come here for vacation (unless for golfing) since it doesn’t feel like being on vacation when...

JASMINE COURT - DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP IN!

It's not the vacation club I had anticipated. Every morning at 5 am, there are 2 riding lawn mowers on the golf course at Jasmine Court. We were assigned the 6000 building even thought we requested to stay in the 4000 building (closer to the main resort). Louis reassured us that the area assigned would be quiet even though there was a pickleball court nearby.

Every morning from 5 am until 5:56 am, TWO riding lawn mowers cut the grass right next to room. Even our downstairs neighbor sat on the patio and watched from the lawn chair daily.

We contacted the Villas Concierge (spoke to Kimberly) and were told to contact the JW Marriott Concierge since they maintain the golf course. We basically got the run around between the two hotels. Awin (JW Concierge) took down our complaint (but didn't ask our name or room number). In all honesty, it doesn't appear as though either hotel will do anything to resolve it. Pretty disappointed since we are on vacation and wanted to sleep in. I definitely will NOT be attending a timeshare presentation now. Most HOAs don't let you mow your lawn until 7 or 8 am. REALLY...
