It has a nice trimmed field, however if you come for a game bring some sort of shade (eazy-up, umbrella, sun hat, visor etc.) And comfortable chairs for everybody, sitting on a blanket is nice for the kids. I advise to bring two water bottles per person, as well as a small snack (Gatorade is nice, but make sure to have water as well). As for the play ground, there is lots of fun things to do . They have swings, the play structure, ring toss (bring your own rings), see saw, sandbox, and other stuff. But I must say everything is very hot. I suggest to go early morning (nine AM or sooner), early evening (4 or later) and going when weather is cooler(95° F or less, preferably when there is little humidity. Going during mid fall to late winter would help as well, considering its the coldest time of year. The only thing I could see as a possible con for others is that the playground is a little dated. Overall this is a park I would recommended to friends. That is all. Like this if the review...
Read moreThis place has an excellent free nine hole disc golf course!!! Every time I go on vacation I try to find a disc golf course and this was one of the best free ones I've seen in a while! It's a little hard to find the first hole tee box (next to the picnic tables opposite of the playground and near the bathrooms). After finding the tee box every other hole was easily findable and easy to understand with the maps at HT box. The soccer fields are immaculate and made me want to play soccer there if I was a kid. The disc golf holes pretty much wrap around the soccer fields So unless you through really horribly, it wouldn't be an issue of playing while the soccer game was going on. They also built the golf course around the tree line so we were constantly in shade which is a plus during the hot noonday sun of...
Read morePalm Desert Hovley Soccer Park is more than just a soccer park. Yes, the park is bustling with soccer activity in its center. But, the park sports a disc golf course, horeshoes, and a basketball court. Petanque is played on the east side of the park next to playground that my grandkids love. You can belly up to the snack bar. Parking is ample, but filled during soccer ⚽️ games. The path around the park is roughly .6 of a mile in length. If you are trying to become a local legend, log your run on Strava. After your run, turn your head to the west and gaze up at the mountains, and thank God for this beautiful park. 😍 But, the important thing about the Palm Desert Hovley Soccer Park is: it is more than just a...
