This hotel had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in my life.
To keep it short, I’m not sure if it was the room or the hotel’s overall quality, as we were staying in Room 222, but it was abysmal.
The piping in the bathroom was loose and couldn’t be tightened all the way so we had to manually try to fix it, we had to manually fix the TV because someone plugged the HDMI Cord into the wrong outlet and room service didn’t check it at all before we came, and more.
There was repeated stomping upstairs at 7 in the morning, and when we tried to call the hotel to get them to ask the people upstairs to stop, nothing happened. When the people left, then the cleaners came to their room and made an absurd amount of noise as well, all while we were trying to sleep.
The pool had no coverage from the shade so the pavement was so hot that it was unbearable to walk on, and when we tried to get back inside, the card reader wasn’t working because of the heat, and there seems to be no backup protocol for this despite the area being notable for how hot it gets. The windows would also not go all the way down, which led to light peering through our window all night long—keep in mind, we are right next to the airport, so it is extremely bright at night. With all of this said, I would not recommend this hotel, or I would at least not recommend Room 222.
Room service was extremely rude on our day of checkout by knocking repeatedly on our door (and likely would’ve let themselves in if we didn’t answer) hours before we had to checkout, and they were talking very loudly right outside of our room. The staff at the breakfast bar wasn’t much better, being very condescending. The food at breakfast was also mostly burnt, and the only good things there were the waffles, which we got scolded for putting the toppings in the batter when there was no sign indicating we couldn’t do that (when it was fully accepted at other hotels).
If there are some good things to say about the hotel, the aesthetic is great, the hotel is easy to navigate and the beds are fine, but that’s about it. I would recommend trying to find another hotel in this area if you can, though. I was told these hotels were great by a trusted source, and I was extremely...

Shuttle: My major complaint is that we were told the shuttle would be able to bring to the business nearby, Mandalay Bay and the airport. Well really they only care about the airport pickups/drop offs which was never relayed to me so I ended up late to a class after waiting 40 min, to a business they have a contract with to provide transportation. Plus the business is only about 3 min drive away. I left at the same time M-TH and yet they still wouldn't keep track or make sure to full fill their promise. Only was able to use the shuttle 1 time from Mandalay Bay and that was a 45 min wait for it to arrive, even after 10pm and it still stopped at the airport, so I was getting to bed mcuh later than planned. Other than that they would literally tell us "get a cab, try Uber" was the response even though they advertise that they will bring you to and from Mandalay Bay on the strip. We spent a lot of $ on cabs since they would not bring anyone anywhere but the airport. It was a joke!
Rooms: Were pretty nice. You could hear the planes at the airport nearby but not enough to keep us from sleeping and we were on the top floor.
Staff: Was nice to deal with.
Complimentary Breakfast: Basic free breakfast. Usually provided coffee, eggs, waffles, cereal, bread items, some fruit and yogurt. Nothing fancy.
Vending machines: Always out of products.
Pool: We did not use, it was 100 degrees outside.
Charges: They charged a hold on the room the day I checked in to 1 ccard even thought I gave them a different credit card to charge. And charge for WiFi even though it was free?!
It was an ok stay but I would have gladly stayed on the strip (CHEAPER even with the discount rate I was issued from booking through the company, plus you can get rooms comped depending on how much you play) and then figured out my transportation to the classes/business nearby. This makes me angry because they are able to get people to stay here, off the strip, by false advertising which is wrong. I had even called the front desk before booking and they seemed as if the shuttle was very flexible. ...
Read moreStay elsewhere. Literally anywhere else. If you're tired and trying to book this hotel to have something predictable and easy, you are in for a VERY rude awakening.
The rooms are dated, which means the general state of the room is very haphazard in some cases. This is very likely contrary to the standards Hampton Inn have cultivated over their long standing as a chain.
The wallpaper was peeling, there was hair stuck onto the door frame of the bathroom (during the COVID crisis, which was icing on the cake I suppose, since it means they didn't really clean the room), the television was not working when we entered the room (as someone had unplugged it before we got there, and had broken the remote control so we couldn't use it), and the air conditioner was not working correctly at all.
We called a maintenance worker to the room, and despite his best efforts, he wasn't able to fix these flaws. Admittedly, the staff (sparing the general manager who was very rude) were all very pleasant. The fact Hampton Inn doesn't give them adequate resources to do their jobs is very disheartening, since they are frequently the ones who have to deal with complaints.
When we brought these complaints to the general manager, he instructed us to turn our hotel keys in at 10pm and find somewhere else to stay, since the room was booked with Expedia. Just imagine for a second: you're about to go on a flight, and the manager of the hotel you're staying in refuses help, preferring instead you go scrounge for a hotel elsewhere.
Not sure if every Hampton Inn is like this since I've only been twice, but I am definitely going to avoid them in the future if there isn't some sort of confirmation that this hotel is an anomaly, and not a norm for the chain. I'd strongly STRONGLY recommend looking elsewhere in this area for a hotel, since there are plenty of other places to stay (Courtyard Inn for an example) where you will be...
