We were looking for a high-end sofa to replace our existing one. An internet search turned up Mercato Interiors. On arrival, Prism greeted us and asked what we were looking for. She then took us around their very large showroom which covers two separate adjacent buildings, having us sit in and comment on various related pieces. Prism was very attentive and most helpful in assisting us find what we wanted.
Once we narrowed it down to a specific manufacturer and model, Prism informed us that it was custom built in Italy and would take 6 to 9 months (allowing the summer European vacation of the factory). She also indicated that while they deliver the furniture to us, they would not take our existing sectional away.
As we got further into the details of what we thought we wanted, Prism offered that they (Prism, Savannah and Liz, their interior decorator/design team) would come out to our home to both measure and discuss the placement and options. This would cost $750 but would be applied to our purchase if we continued. We agreed and an appointment was set.
The team arrived at our home and took measurements as well as discussed suggested colors and options. This was followed by Prism drawing up plans to scale for our review. We returned to the store to go over the plans, refined our leather choice, and then added custom chairs to the order to complement the couch. Prism sent over revised plans with the couch and chairs to scale, and based on that we decided to with a slightly smaller (original) version of the couch.
We returned to the store for the third time, now to finalize all the details and costs, and pay. When Prism presented the final costs there was an additional charge of more than $1000 to deliver the furniture to us. This charge had never been mentioned until that point- even though we had the discussion about whether they would be removing our sectional when they delivered the new furniture.
We found this additional charge out of place considering the total cost of the couch and two chairs and that they would not be removing our existing furniture, but Prism said that was their policy. I offered to split the delivery charge with them, but that offer was rejected. So, we left.
I find it very short-sighted that Mercato management was willing to lose us as customers on a good-sized purchase ($25k) over not being willing to split delivery cost and...
Read moreTalk about a stuffy staff! Went into the Natuzzi Italia store and you would think someone might ask if we needed any help looking for something. Not a word from anyone! The only conversation going on in the store was of a high strung man having a meltdown over the way a piece of furniture was placed on the showroom. Talked my wife into looking in Furniture Market. We cruised through two-thirds of the store before someone even acknowledged we were there. The conversation with the sales lady was informative but with a slight I’m better than you tone. Constantly correcting my wife and I on the pronunciation of Natuzzi. We expressed that we were looking for a more rustic and warm feel of furniture that was going into a home that was lived in. She quickly told us the store had modern pieces and that Natuzzi Editions had more of what we were looking for and we should look at another store. With no mention of two stores that have Natuzzi Editions in the Vegas area. We said we would finish looking and felt like we were chased out of the store. Maybe stereotyping people by the way they look and dress is something akin to Las Vegas. Judging a book by it’s cover is a lot like assuming. When a customer pulls up in what they consider a modest vehicle that costs more than anything the employees are driving and packs more carats on their hand than everyone in the store combined. They might be able to buy anything in the store they want. P. S. I’ve been in construction site portajohns fresher and cleaner than the restrooms in this...
Read moreNice place, but pretty pricey. They did have some beautiful furniture, but I personally don't see the difference between a $2500 sectional and an $8000 sectional, and they didn't give me the opportunity to find out. I did see some recliners I liked, but I'll buy them online before I ever come back to this store. I had just finished moving, so I came in, in tshirt and workout shorts. So, i guess since they didn't see my Porsche pull in, they assumed I wasn't worth taking to. I really can't stand snobby places like this. I literally spent 20 minutes walking around without so much as a hello. I like local businesses, but I'd much rather my purchase partially furnishing my new Vegas home went to Ashley Furniture. At least there they don't judge their customers by their clothes. I'm glad they only saw my car on the way out, and not...
