The motel is shabby but reasonably clean with a comfortable bed. Had it not been for the following, I would have rated 3 stars.
At 8:30 am after the first night, I accidentally locked myself out. The office didn’t open until 10, and there was no emergency contact number listed. I knocked on doors, checked the website for another number, and called the main number but got no response and no alternative contact. Housekeeping arrived around 9 am and let me in. Later, when I discussed the lack of an emergency number, the owner was condescending and dismissive, saying guests should call the police in an emergency (plumbing, heat or lockout). Despite trying to explain the issue with him, it was clear he didn’t care. I left and let the door slam behind me.
The situation escalated when he stormed toward me in the empty parking lot (which was very frightening), telling me he was refunding my stay and threatened to call the police if I didn’t leave in 20 minutes. I was so startled but agreed and that this would be included in my review. Later, I received a text saying I was trespassed and had lied about being locked out, with a video showing me leaving the room after 9 am (after the housekeeper had let me in). He claimed he filed a police report for “fraudulence with intent to public slander.” The police confirmed no report was filed.
I strongly advise against staying here, especially for solo female travelers, given the owner's hostile behavior and disregard for guest safety.
Response to lies from owner: Video shows me leaving my room after 9am, which is correct because it was after housekeeping let me into the room. You didn't show any video to me when I came to address my concerns, you texted it to me 3 hours later. I never said you locked me out, I said that I locked myself out. The issue was that you have no way to contact anyone for an emergency such as this.
There is no video of me screaming at you and slamming doors because it never happened. I did slam the door on my way out of the office after you were so rude, condescending and dismissive of my safety concerns that I was incredulous at your behavior. You claimed there is no such thing as a "hotel emergency" and didn't care for any example I gave that could be an emergency. It is clear you don't care about your guests beyond their money. I did not break a single thing - the doorbell you claimed was broken didn't work both times I walked into the dumpy office.
Where are your videos of me crying while knocking on the office door multiple times while you were upstairs? Where are the videos of me walking around the property, looking for anyone to let me in? Walking to the cafe next door to see if they had a contact number for you?
As for your lies that you filed police reports in an effort to scare me from posting a review about my concerns, 3 phone calls to the Payson Police confirmed that they have not received a call nor a report was taken.
I expect the refund you said you were issuing before you told me I had 20 minutes to pack up my room or you would...
Read moreWe were coming home from our vacation in Northern AZ and needed a place to stop for the night before riding back into the hell hole that is Phoenix, AZ in the Summer. It just happened to be the Saturday of the Memorial Day Weekend.||Finding a decent room in Payson, AZ on that date was daunting, especially because most motels required at least a 2 day minimum stay.||We tried a few places and decided that they were either too expensive, or required 2 nights. Luckily, we found the Rim Country Inn.||Bina at the front desk was sweet and accommodating. She quoted us $120 a night (which is high for the room - but it was considered a holiday).||The room (#41) was immaculate. It had a king sized bed, clean, fresh pillows and linens and appeared to be remodeled recently. There is a small efficiency kitchen consisting of a single cup coffee maker, a microwave and a small fridge. The sink is in the sleeping area (next to the fridge- and has a small leak around the cold water handle) and the bathroom is a stand up shower (very clean) and a toilet. The TV leaves a little to be desired due to it being stuffed into a small entertainment center. The sound volume is very muffled. There are room darkener curtains which match the bedspread and check out time is 11 am - though we didn't stay that long. There is 1 parking space for each room and the parking lot is level and sand/gravel free (a plus for those of us who ride motorcycles). I cannot stress how impressed I was with the cleanliness of this place - and the fact that the pillows actually smelled clean! What a treat.||Overall, I loved this place and didn't give it a "5" rating only because of the high price due to the holiday. Thanks Bina for a wonderful stay. We...
Read moreLet's see where do I start, we'll It all started where I showed up at the appropriate time to check in at 2 pm they didn't even have a room ready for me even though I booked a reservation 5 days in advance. I waited 25 mins before I got a key to get a room. My family and I go in the room and it smells heavily like febreeze or some odor eliminator also they opened the window in the bathroom to ventilate. "What were they trying to hide?" Sure enough near the mini fridge under the sink it smelled like stinky cheese or rotten milk of some sort. I went to the office several times to notify someone but sure enough the office door is open but no worker is to be found anywhere. I yelled out several times "Hello, hello, anybody here" not a single person came. Luckily I was only staying 1 night. I ended up going to Walmart and buying lysol air odor eliminator to get rid of the stinky smell. Also are room did not have a do not disturb plack. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the pillows made my head hot all night and i slept on the bed next to the ac blasting. I went to the office again to ask them for a plack and the door was open but no worker to be found anywhere. The service was none, there was no service. I would give these people a -10 out of 10 if I could. No amount of discount would ever win me back. I will NEVER book here again. If I were you reading this review just pay the extra few dollars to stay at the comfort Inn. This place is a dump and staff do not care at all for your need of help to service you. No one ever checked on us to ask how everything was or anything. We would of been better off sleeping in our car in the parking lot and would of...
