Might be the nicest hotel property in Perham. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel is relatively new so public spaces still look and smell fresh. Two story building with no elevator; plan accordingly. Bathroom vanity had pulled away from counter backslash. There was a water leak above our room and the shower ceiling was damaged. Time will tell how well property manages upkeep. Perhaps most frustrating is the absence of electrical outlets atop the bedside tables. This is a new property certainly constructed after widespread use of smartphones. No excuse for having to move furniture from the wall to charge electronics. I will note I had spare time after checking out and spent time lounging in the lobby. There were three staff working behind the front desk and another two persons working housekeeping. A rather large staff for a relatively small hotel property; curious, odd, expensive, sustainable? Fix the counters and water damage...

Great hotel in West-central Minnesota. Stayed here for work for one night. Front desk staff was very nice and got us checked in quickly. Rooms were relatively clean (some pizza crumbs on the chairs in the room and some hairs leftover in the bathroom). Breakfast was decent and about what you would expect for continental style. Town has a funky smell!!

Grandstay was highly recommended by my business colleague and friend from the KLN family of companies. The hotel is located just minutes from the Kenny’s Candy Factory where I was working and is right next to Central Market and McDonald’s making this location extremely convenient for me and providing everything I need within a stone’s throw. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I reserve this room this Saturday before Veterans Day for my wife, infant daughter and myself. I’d ask for the king deluxe room which had more space for a pack and play over the phone with the property manager over the executive which was a smaller room. When I went to check in, the young man at the front desk Justin, who was a complete professional and made the error much more palatable had told me somebody else had checked in under my name in the room and he needed to verify it. He showed me the slip that had signatures on it that we’re not mine and somebody was locked into the room sleeping when we went up to check. He had called somebody Saturday night to ask what to do and they had said that I can get into the executive and they would give me a discount in the morning when we checked into the room. There was pee in the toilet as well as no toilet paper on the roll or tissues (minor thing but relevant for later). When I went to check out Sunday morning, I went to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager because I was told from Justin that I needed to check out upfront to make sure the proper discount was attached. They said that since I already had a veteran discount that they couldn’t discount it much more since they were similar rooms! I told them there is no reason that I shouldn’t get a discount because it was not the room that I had reserved with you over the phone, Mrs. property manager and that I told from last night that there would be a severe discount due to the fact that somebody at the front desk did not check the person’s ID and verify that they were me or that they were checking into the right room or that the morals of the person that took the room didn’t verify that it was the right room and they took the bigger room. They said well we can’t really discount that much because we still have housekeeping stuff to pay and general upkeep to which I said what do you mean pay your housekeepers pay them to not change out the toilet paper or the Kleenex or to make sure they flush the toilet before they leave because those things were paid for, but they weren’t done, what kind of discount were you looking for because we can discount the Nextro I said there’s no reason for me to stay at this hotel again if this is how I’m gonna be treated after an error on your guises part not on my part when I reserved a specific room and now you’re telling me because I’m a veteran that’s all the discount that you’re willing to give me. This is completely unprofessional. This will be the first and last time that we stay here my wife and I traveled all through Covid and never had this issue of somebody taking our room and it just happens to be the first time at your hotel and you’re telling me this is the best that you can do no thank you we won’t be staying here again. They gave me a decent discount for the trouble but still it’s a situation that should’ve...

We decided to not even stay at this hotel after a long, drawn out, deceitful process. I called the hotel directly to reserve a double queen room and I spoke to Beth. She informed me that there were no double queens available but did have a king suite available with a pull out couch. I advised her we did not want the pull out couch because there are some adults in my party that have issues and would not do well on that type of a bed. She said no problem, I will contact a different party who booked a double Queen and upgrade them to the king suite instead. In return I can give you the double queen. So priced quoted me at $135 for the king suite and $110 for the double Queen. I called back a half hour later to confirm the details of my reservation with her and the manager Darlene answered the call. I explain to her the situation and she told me that was not possible. They cannot just upgrade another party to the king suite. I said I am sorry but this is the offer I was given previously and I expect you guys to hold up your end of the deal. She then said she would do her best to make it happen and price quoted me at completely different numbers than Beth had given me prior for the rooms. At this point I was extremely frustrated and told her I wanted the price point I was originally given as well as the double queen bed I was originally promised. She said she would look into it and send me an email confirmation once everything was confirmed. I let a week and a half pass and I never heard from the hotel. I called yesterday and again, spoke to Beth. She said she would work immediately once we got off the phone to find a double Queen to switch my king suite for. I never heard anything back - received no confirmation letter - no follow up call, nothing. Awful customer service. To top it all off when I told her that we didn’t want to deal with the pull out couch due to some members of my party having back, hip issues etc… she stated “it really isn’t that big of a deal”. Literally a terrible organization to work with and I would never ever recommend anyone...

We were having plumbing issues and had to wait for a plumber to come out at our house so we decided to book a night and stay at Grandstay in Perham. This is a nice hotel close proximity to a great Coffeeshop and also Grocerystore. Is in a quiet location in town. They were repaving the parking lot at the time and I had crutches I had recently broken my foot and they allowed my husband to park on the grass on the side of the building so didn't have to walk so far. They have spacious rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, good coffee and I am picky as I am a coffee drinker, and decent amenities. They have a nice pool however we didn't use that as I had crutches and they have a nice breakfast however we didn't take advantage of that as we went thru the coffeeshop drivethru on the way home. I had booked the hotel online and when checking in they gave us the best possible price for our room which was lower than the online quote said and their staff was very friendly and nice also the hotel was very clean and rooms were very clean. Only have good things to say about this hotel and location. Is a good value for a nights stay and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again if ever needed to or were in the area. Is a great option if needed to stay...
