We were so looking forward to our trip until hurricane Ian put a stop to that... We made reservations at the Tea Rose Inn back in April and at that time because of the refund policy they had on the website it said to call to get their full refund policy and I was told at the time if it was due to an emergency or an act of God that our money would be refunded... Fast forward to hurricane Ian I called them to let them know that our trip had been canceled and they said well that's kind of short notice and I said well hurricane Ian didn't give us much notice... I was told that they could rent the room out for at least two of the nights which they did after checking their website... I was told by the wife that she would refund our money that she would not keep anyone's money due to a hurricane and it would be refunded at the end of the month but she would call me if there were any issues... I didn't find out if the refund would be by check or back to my credit card so I called and left a message they did not return my phone call so I sent an email and was told that they would not refund my money even though they rented that room out for at least two of the nights that we were supposed to be there that they would give a rain check.... They have lied from day one and I wouldn't stay at their bed and breakfast even with a rain check because at this point in time they can't be trusted... My advice to anyone that plans on staying here be sure that you don't mind losing your money because they will not refund your money for...
Read moreCould not sleep because there was no room darkening shade (flood light was RIGHT IN MY FACE) AND the maids had mistakenly put the shams in the pillowcases, very uncomfortable. The ultimate insult was when the woman of the couple asked me “are you sure you know the difference between pillows and shams?”…really?? When I asked why they didn’t have eye masks considering there was a huge floodlight in my face, they said “oh, people kept walking off with them”. Isn’t it better that they walk off with the mask rather than their business? Guess not. In re-reviewing this review (say that 10 times fast), I realize that I was a bit unfair and harsh (I'm working on it), and did not mention the positives, of which there were many: the hosts are VERY nice, put out a wonderful breakfast; the decor was really interesting and our room was well appointed with beautiful furnishings and actual antiques in a display cabinet! The owners do seem very much to care about the comfort of their guests. It was my bad that I didn't ask about the pillows that were mistakenly dressed as shams. They also said that they were going to put up a room darkening shade right away. LOVE the location facing my old grandparents house. I do recommend this B&B. I will keep working on not being...
Read moreI stayed at The Tea Rose Inn for the first time earlier this week and I had a terrific experience from start to finish. Jane, the owner of this beautiful inn, could not have been more accommodating. I stayed in the “Green Room” and awoke the following morning feeling rested which is not common for me as I usually do not sleep well if not in my own bed. My room at The Tea Rose Inn was comfortable in every way… the king sized sleep number bed, the beautiful decor, private full-bath, soft linens, air conditioning, etc. And, everything was spotless which undoubtedly also contributed to my having slept well. Just outside the charming area where you sit to enjoy a delicious, home made breakfast, there is a coffee and tea bar available to guests at their convenience with a variety of delicious cookies. When I checked in, Jane asked what I enjoy eating for breakfast and I had read so many raving reviews about her French toast and pancakes, it was difficult to choose, but I decided on the French toast and I was not disappointed. Warm baked apples sweetened to perfection, bacon, orange juice and fresh brewed coffee accompanied my French toast breakfast. I enjoyed my stay so much that I’ve booked another at The Tea Rose Inn for the fall. Thank you for your...
