First time at Phat Fish. Some friends and I were at a lake not too far from this restaurant and thought we would give it a try for dinner. We didn’t wait long to be seated outdoors, since it didn’t seem that busy. However, our waitress took awhile to show up and proceeds to tell us she’ll be right with us as she quickly walks away. My friends and I didn’t want to make it a big deal since it may had seemed they were understaffed. Finally, we are able to put in our orders and I was the last person to inform her what I want. I usually go last since I have dietary restrictions and every places I go to, they would always make my order wrong. The dish I got contained cheese and I informed the waitress kindly “no cheese” loud and clear. She repeated my request as she wrote it down. Food took awhile. When it did, I quickly noticed cheese. I informed the waitress I requested “no cheese” and she apologized saying she remembered. I was the only one waiting for some time as my friends were almost done eating. I took this hint they had taken my request seriously. I was wrong. When it returned, I had an instinct that many would just scrap off whatever you don’t want and recook it. That’s what they did. It was more obvious when they failed to look at my side dish on the same plate where some pieces of cheese was still there. On top of that, I noticed a couple of melted cheese on the side of my salmon. My significant other was with us as well, knew what they’ve done and tried to catch the waitress to demand for a new one. She never showed up, probably knew what they did was wrong. I was very upset because whether I tell them I have dietary restrictions or not, they wouldn’t take it seriously. I was so hungry since none of us had eaten all day and it was getting real late that some of us had work the next day that I just ate it. My significant other was definitely NOT happy at all since we were not from NH and we had a very long drive back home. We quickly tried to leave, but our waitress was nowhere at sight that a friend of ours had to walk into the restaurant to request for our check and paid for it. On my way home, I soon got sick that my significant other had to pull over many times on the highway.
My initial rating was 1 Star because of my overall first and only time experience plus service. However, don’t get me wrong... the dish I got was pretty good. I just won’t come back here again if they’re not going to care for dietary restrictions and/or allergies for their customers even if some customers does it out of their preference, if they just don’t like...
Read moreThe recent dining experience presented several areas of concern. This review constitutes a third instance of dissatisfaction, and while positive aspects are typically considered, this experience lacked them. The discrepancies began with outdated pricing on the Google Maps profile, which listed inaccurate menu prices. The à la carte pricing structure, coupled with ingredient inconsistencies, further detracted from the experience. The chicken tacos, initially priced at $9.00 on the Google Maps menu, were billed at $10.00, with additional charges for sour cream and salsa. An additional taco was priced at $4.00. While the portion size of the shredded chicken was adequate, the taco lacked sufficient cheese and featured lettuce instead of cabbage. The onions were thinly sliced, and the chicken's flavor profile was mild. The addition of coleslaw could have enhanced the overall taste. The fried mushrooms, listed at $8.00 on the Google Maps menu, were invoiced at $12.00. The batter's flavor profile suggested the use of oil that had not been recently refreshed, and the dish was served without the accompanying sauce shown in the promotional material. Regarding the jalapeño bacon burger, the menu price was not available on Google. The final cost, inclusive of optional add-ons, totaled $18.00. The burger itself was well-received, with a favorable taste profile and a generous portion size. Keep in mind there is also a 3.00% card surcharge. Our total bill for two entrees and one...
Read moreMy mom and I ordered take out through DoorDash - a cheeseburger and a Jamaican chicken salad, no special preferences or substitutions. DoorDash said it would be about 60-72 minutes, we had ordered at about 3:20. We arrived at Phat Boyz at about 4:10 to pick it up, it was not ready. We waited until 4:45 before we eventually just gave up and went somewhere else - even if you’re packed to the gills busy, it should never take over an hour, much less an hour and a half for a cheeseburger and a salad.
What really took us by surprise and made us frustrated was the service. We asked multiple times for an accurate time on when our food would be ready and all we got was “just a few more minutes.” The host (?) rolled her eyes at us multiple times as if we were the ones in the wrong for thinking it wasn’t normal for an order to take this long. There was never an apology. You would think when I walked in the door at 4:10, there would be somewhat of an urgency to get the order out, but there was zero urgency, they did not care. They kept saying they were busy, which it is Plymouth Homecoming so I can imagine it WAS busy but while waiting the thirty-five minutes at Phat Boyz, there were about 10 tables/bar parties sat and no other take out orders coming out of the kitchen…so what was the real issue here?
Phat Boyz/Phat Fish was one of our go-to’s coming home after hiking. It definitely will not be on our list after...
