There is not one staff member in 3 days that I would give a good recommendation for..... (Truth) would have been embarrassed to refer anyone to that horrible "so called Hotel" I have stayed at MANY La Quintas in the past years.... this La Quinta, On Gray St. In Pooler, Georgia, reminded Me of a crack MOTEL! Yes. MOTEL! Not one La Quinta across the country would even come close to the disappointment or rudeness of your hotel or staff members. ...,The drawers were missing a Broken drawer, The last two that were remaining on that SO CALLED dresser, had packing tape holding it together, once I opened the 2nd drawer, there was no bottom. Really useful !!! No bottom to the drawer !!! Wowwww!!! The third drawer was missing completely ! There was mold where the fridge was standing, the back of the fridge was completely Awful ... it was an Ice Block! The Bathtub ... I could have broken my neck on. Very slippery and had so much soap scum, I nearly broke my neck and so did my husband. ....there WAS NO CLOSET DOOR! It was "MISSING "... If I was housekeeping supervisor at this particular location, I'd block this room until it was repaired. I was a housekeeping supervisor and front desk for many years in Central Florida, I'd be embarrassed to rent that room. Id DEFINITELY block that room. Until completely repaired! My husband Went to speak to front desk for two extra pillows.... as per front desk person .... they are only giving us one! They refused to give another. When my husband asked.... "Are you low on pillows?" They said "No" ... You Only Need One! As well as extra towels. "You only need one! As per rude front desk. ... why would they deny towels and an extra pillow! As housekeeping supervisor and front desk, in two hotels in central Florida, I'd give the guests what they wanted. Keep the guest happy for good reviews. And believe greatly on comeback guests.... guess that's not important at this particular Hotel..... Apparently your staff couldn't be bothered with their guests at the time or cared about reviews. Front desk was rude and rather asleep or the ones that were awake, rather gossip along with playing with each other, take personal phone calls in front of us .... or worst of all, to be non present for over 45 minutes at front desk when 4 of their guests were trying to check in..... There were three guests including myself waiting patiently for service. .....There were gift bags left for two of us guests And if I never asked for them. I never would have gotten them. Another red flag that your employees don't care. We were in for a wedding from Florida. Worst service I've ever experienced! From beginning to end! ....As per person at front desk, when my husband asked for extra pillows (2)...."You'll only need one!" Really ??? ... There was a USED bar of soap in the bathroom when we first walked in. Where was housekeeping supervisor at that time of supervising??!! And when we spoke to front desk on Sunday, when we left ... they couldn't be bothered. I Will NEVER book this hotel if it was my last resort. $500 later from Friday night to Sunday morning, I'd sooner stay in my car than room with them! La Quinta in Pooler, Georgia on Gray St. Was a disaster.... wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy! I do feel we are owed some sort of discount for all this TOTAL Unprofessionalism and neglect. But they were combative with My husband over a pillow. Imagine if we wanted any fees waived? It could have been much worse. Therefore, there isn't a small enough star to even rate this hotel! Room 323 Sept. 15th to the 17th, Daisy Wisniewski, I pray the next guests have a much better room than I did. I have photos to accompany my complaints. Just ask for them. Again, Daisy...
Read moreMy family and I stayed the above establishment last night. When we arrived we were informed by the front desk girl that we were “her last check in for the night.” She asked if we preferred “a room on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd floor?” I said the first is fine, whichever she best recommends. We were put in room #107 and everything was fine with the room going to bed. At Apx 6:30am I was woken up by loud banging. Thinking it was just someone checking out next store I rolled over to try to go back to bed. Myself and my husband both wear ear plugs to sleep. For the next hour I tossed and turned hearing loud banging and some shouting. I finally took out my ear plugs and walked out into the hallway in my PJS to see no one. So I looked to see what backed to our bedroom wall. And turning the corner I see the breakfast buffet and a staff kitchen room. The counter and sink (both made of steel) area was all filled with large pots and a large black man who was slamming things down on them. When he saw me in the doorway I explained to him I was in the room on the other side of the wall and was trying to figure out where all the noise that woke me up was coming from. He replied “yeah, I’m making breakfast.” I proceeded to walk to the front desk that was unattended and waited for a very nice gentleman who worked the front desk to return to it. I was very kind and respectful when speaking to him as I knew it wasn’t his doing and fault but I told him my issue with not being able to sleep. He explained that there wasn’t much he could do at the moment to fix the situation but would explain the situation to the on site manager- Etris Jackson, who would be into work very shortly and because we weren’t staying another night would discuss with her about some sort of “compensation for our inconvenience”. I went back to my room and tried to sleep again but at this point my husband was now awake hearing the noise as well. I explained to him the situation. As the banging and loud noises and shouting continued we decided to get up and dressed and showers. We checked out at 10am and was told by the gentleman at the front desk she was still not in and wouldn’t be until 10:30am if I wanted to wait for her. We needed to get going so I confirmed with him my contact details and he gave me her card and I asked him to have her contact me once she was into work. The gentleman said he would not check me out or process my payment until he spoke to her and explained the issue. At 11:08am the same day (5/25/24) still had not gotten a call Or email from the manager. I called it just rang and rang. So @ 12:00pm the same day, I called again and got a female employee who answered the phone. I asked for the manager by name and was told she was not in. I started to tell her the situation and She was extremely rude and said “I doubt you will receive any type of compensation but I’ll get your info from the him (the male employee) and tell her. I asked if I could just speak to the gentleman as he knew the situation and she said he wasn’t available and was attending to “ matters that are much more important.” When I said “excuse me.” For such a rude, degrading comment she hung up the phone on me. I called back 7 times (up until 1:03pm) and was hung up on 3 times and still phone left to ring the other 4. I had no intention of, nor did I yell or insult staff at any time during this ordeal. However Im extremely frustrated and curious as to where is the site Manager is when such accommodation and staff issues like this arise? I would like to request if the owner sees this review to please contact me regarding my issues with his hotel and our...
Read moreVery clean rooms, breakfast and bed are horrible I spent one day here, and overall, I was ok with this stay.
First I'll start with the problems, since this is a review and everyone, including me, loves to whine when they leave their comments.
There were two problems that stood out, the very uncomfortable and thinly padded mattress and a breakfast that left everything to be desired.
If you've ever stayed at a Wyndham property, you know that breakfast is going to be atrocious. You have to go in with really low expectations.
The breakfast at this hotel was in keeping with the disaster that Wyndham properties regularly inflict on their guests. It might be better than a breakfast that you would find in prison, but I've never actually been to prison, so I wouldn't know.
I'm thinking that this is a prison quality breakfast. Your best bet is to hit the road and get breakfast at one of the fast food places that are near the hotel.
The mattress was extremely uncomfortable. It's like you were just laying directly on the springs with about a half an inch of padding that had given up the ghost long ago. When you wake up you feel like you got hit by a truck. It's that kind of a bad mattress problem.
Here's a helpful hint for this hotel. Everyone is buying memory foam mattresses. They're really comfortable. You should think about getting some for this location.
Now we'll get to the good parts...
The staff was very helpful and friendly. When I was checking in, there was an elderly couple that needed help with an extra chair, and the hotel staff immediately came to their assistance and were very happy to do so.
Upon check out I let the staff know about the problems that I experienced with the poor mattress quality and the uncomfortable mattress. They were interested in what I had to say and it seemed like they were familiar with the problems.
Overall, I give the staff two thumbs up for their helpfulness, competence, and cheery demeanor.
Now we'll get to the rooms. My room was immaculately clean. Housekeeping is really doing a fantastic job. My room passed the white socks test, and the barefoot test.
The towels were really soft and fluffy. These were the best towels that I had ever experienced in a road trip hotel like this property.
The water pressure was great and the temperature was hot. All the lamps in the room worked and there were no problems with either the air conditioning or things like the remote control or TV. The staff had even taken the time to print out a very helpful channel guide for the TV. The elevators were pretty speedy and the parking lot was well lit.
So, would I stay here again? Only if they got new mattresses. Then this place would be perfect, well maybe not because of that breakfast.
Being a platinum rewards member at Wyndham hotels, I've completely given up on their concept of prison breakfasts for their guests. Perhaps a food truck could be enlisted to do a drive by breakfast. How fun...
