This hotel changed rebranded from Travelodge to Baymont inn January 2019. Stayed here for nine nights in December 2018/January 2019 just before rebranding for a business trip. For the nightly rate, it is an absolute bargain for the area. If working in the Garden City-Port Wentworth area, location is perfect as it is in the center of all amenities for both business and leisure without having to deal with all of the port, Gulfstream, Pooler, etc. traffic. The size of the rooms are large and include desks, sofas, and extra room that make extended stays a bit more comfortable. The room itself was clean upon initial entry and refreshed daily with high standards. Since this is a pet friendly property, common areas may smell like dogs are present but the cleaning staff did a good job of refreshing these areas on a daily basis. If staying on the first floor, it may become a bit noisy during evening and overnight hours, especially on weekends due to traffic in and out of the hotel. This might not be a bothersome for those having a room on any other floor besides the ground floor. Since this hotel is adjacent to the motorway, it does see a fair share of traffic during evening and overnight hours. Breakfast is offered each morning and consists of eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, toast, waffles, cereal, dairy, etc., though the protien offerings might differ daily. Overall, the experience was satisfactory and will probably stay here again the next time when on business in the area. Have already refered colleagues to this hotel, and their sentiments towards this hotel have all been...
Read moreFirst and foremost, don’t stop here… 1. Booked THREE MONTHS in advance in a smoke free hotel, showed up and the room smelled like cigarettes so bad your eyes wanted to water, brought it to their attention and of course they had no room to move us too. Told to speak with the manager in the morning. 2. The fridge is NASTY as in full of what looked like melted and then refrozen ice cream cake and one random shrimp (See pics). 3. The safety catch on the door is almost off the door frame and the damage to the door shows it’s been kicked open while the catch was extended (Pics). 4. Pullout couch is broken making it almost impossible to pullout and the arm is crushed (Pics). 5. Gross stains, that actually wipe right off if housekeeping would have wiped it, on the hairdryer that look like a combination of nicotine stains and moisture droplets, all the drains in the bathroom are broken (pics). 6. Mattresses are the worst thing I’ve ever laid on, I’ve used comfier camping pads and sleeping bags…
After speaking to the manager the next morning like we were told to the night before and that they would “for sure make it right” the “best he could do” was hand me two not even crisp 10$ bills, “because we booked online”…
In summary single guys looking for a place to crash for the night / just sleep on your way between A-B this might do it, if you travel with young kids (like we do) have food allergies or breathing issues like asthma, the smells and horrendous nasties in this hotel you may...
Read moreDisgusting hotel and uncaring management. Do not book here. To start off, we booked and paid for a King Suite. When we arrived they gave us a junior suite room which they insisted was the same until we pulled up pictures from the website of what the room is supposed to look like and after an hour of waiting they finally moved us to the correct room. This is when we noticed the room smelled of mold and sure enough we found it very visibly all over bathroom (pictures attached) and who knows whats behind the walls! Absolutely disgusting. Along with dirty bedsheets. When we informed management they were nonchalant and unapologetic. They simply said their policy "allows" one room change which we we already had and would accomodate a "second room change" which would be a regular room not the one we had paid for, or we could go somewhere else. The audacity to say this when the room they "allowed' us to change was the wrong one they put us into in the first place. We had kids and it was late at night so we had no choice but to take the downgrade in room. The new room had a loud chirping noise coming from the nightstand outlets all night that did not allow us to sleep well. One problem after another. This hotel is trash and so is the management. The manager said it was family owned so she was not too concerned with our complaints. A complaint has been filed with the health department. Stay away and run them out of business as...
