Im going to start by saying DIRTY !!!!!!!! I have stayed at a lot best western hotels . I constantly travel for work. I have had great experiences with this brand of hotel . Although this particular hotel was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in . I cant believe that this is what poway has to offer . Our non smoking room smelled like people smoked in before , but worse it smelled like old urine . If you don't mind the smell of a bad convalescent home then you might not mind. I slept with the widow open all the way. It helped a little . The beds are cheapest bed you can buy ! I'm sure of it. The pillows were clumpy and flat. Linens smelled old . I wouldn't say used , just stale ,not freshly washed . The room we had was 123 . It's in the back bottom floor. The stair case going upstairs is blocking your window. That's not the problem. The problem is that when anyone walks up the stairs . It's loud SUPER LOUD !!! shakes the room ! No one is sleeping though that ! Our room had no shampoo or conditioner . When we went to the front desk to ask for some shampoo and conditioner. The guy gave us shampoo and lotion. I said "hey man this not conditioner its lotion " he said ... then we don't have any conditioner. SERIOUSLY???? The breakfast room ?WOW! IF YOU CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU PUT IN YOUR BODY DONT BOTHER ! Old fruit , yogurt was old, frozen then thawed it had water in it . I eat that brand of yogurt daily and never seen that ! Strait garbage. If I were the manager I would be embarrassed . I can go on and on about this hotel stay. I stayed there 10 years ago and it was ok . Now it's horrible. DONT STAY HERE ! I WOULD RATHER SLEEP IN MY CAR WITH A BAG OF TRASH AND A WET DOG. Ok maybe not that bad but at least you would know where those smells are coming from ! And that's not a joke. i didnt bother getting a new room because at check in another customer was complaining about the smell in his room and need to be switched . He was on the other end of hotel. I saw him later and asked him if the room that he moved to was better. He said" NO it's just as bad . It's not the room its the hotel " I told him that I think he's right , ours was horrible too. I feel like I waisted my rewards points. Good luck to all and safe...
Read moreSTOP DELETING THIS REVIEW, CUSTOMERS HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW!!! On the second day of my stay (09-13JUL23), I notified the staff of bug bites and requested a room change which they accommodated. My body was itching due to the bug bites and I wanted to know what caused them. The general manager, Dyia has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. She said that the bites came from fleas as they allow pets in the rooms. She also accused me of lying about where the bites originated. The itching and discomfort became too much; therefore, I ended up going to Urgent Care at Palomar Health where Dr. Nicholas S. identified the bites as bed bug bites. Medicine (Permethrin) was prescribed for this. I also had to follow a lengthy and costly process to ensure that I didn't bring this infestation into my home and workplace. I was treated horribly by the general manager, Dyia, who later ended up apologizing for her treatment towards me. This of course after I provided the doctors assessment of the bites. The hospital and pharmacy logged the bed bug infestation as they need to monitor and report in efforts to prevent outbreaks. The general manager rented the room to another guest after me and mentioned that she informed them of bugs and that they were ok with that. I seriously doubt that she mentioned this to them, no one would stay in a room infested with bugs. She desperately needs customer service training. I paid for four hotel nights and ended up getting the worst experience in my 17 years of worldwide travel. This hotel needs to be shut and treated to remove the bed bug problems they currently have. I am expecting a call from someone at Best Western to discuss...
Read moreBlood in the sheets! First off when I made my reservation I asked for a handicap accessible room, due to recent spine surgery. I am on a walker and can't lift my leg over a tub. When I checked in I asked if we had a handicap room, the gentlemen responded with "No and it's not actually really wheelchair accessible." Not wanting to argue about it i just too a room on the first floor, we dropped our bags and left immediately for an engagement. Upon return to our room I realized how dirty our room was. The carpets were completely stained, the AC cover was being held on by tape, dead bugs in the bathroom light fixture. I was exhausted and willing to look past this, until we turned the bed down to find the sheets were filthy and had blood not just on the fitted sheet but the flat sheet and blanket. We called the same gentlemen at the front desk who came and inspected the bed and moved us two doors down, into THE HANDICAP ROOM he said was unavailable! Upon getting into that room I had to wear shoes anytime I walked on the carpet due to it being damp and sticky. There was a large gap that was open at the bottom door allowing, bugs, moisture and the overnight cold air in. We were unable to open the blinds as the string to open then had been ripped off and the bottom of the blinds were torn apart. The two most disturbing parts of my stay were the bloody sheets and the gentleman up front lying about the handicap room I reserved, while seeing I was on a walker and was having a hard time walking. We will not return to best Western and I kindly ask that you consider refunding some if not all of my...
