I had a horrible experience in the Poway Home Goods. Unfortunately, It was with a manager. I was shopping with my mother who is in a wheelchair. I had a shopping cart full of items to purchase and it got collected by the manager and the items put back in stock. I looked for it for a while assuming someone had taken it by mistake. An associate learned that the manager had taken it and let me know. The manager approached me to scold me for leaving my cart unattended. She claimed that I had left my cart for over 30 minutes. I disagreed and she got angry (she was already fired up when she approached me initially). She told me I had to keep my cart with me at all times. My reply was that it is not a reasonable expectation. I was assisting my mom in a wheelchair while shopping so I would move the cart several isles away and then shop those isles and move my cart again to the next set of isles. The manager told me that I need to be courteous to other shoppers who need carts. Just info, there were 6-8 empty carts just outside the door. The manager made a very aggressive announcement over the PA to all shoppers to keep their carts close to them or they will lose them, be courteous to others who need carts. Michelle , the manager stood up front at the cashiers desk pointing at me and talking to the cashiers. Why? It was embarrassing and maddening. When I disputed the amount of time my cart was unattended, she raised her voice and told me she has video surveillance and can pull it up NOW to prove how long my cart was unattended. I maintain that my cart was NOT unattended very long. I was being scolded like a child. I did not spend a dime in that store. As I took my mom in her wheelchair out of the store, the manager came to the front of the store and stood at the doorway. Why was she going to...
Read moreWas a frequent shopper here because of my wife. Until tonight when the old white haired lady was rude. Wife and I were sitting on a couch inspecting a cabinet that we were going to purchase and my son jumped on the couch to sit next to me (not putting his feet/shoes on the couch). The old lady walks up to us and said "please don't have him jumping on the couch". I didn't mind at first even though he didn't really jump on the couch. But she had to end her request with a rude "they are VERY expensive". Wow. Sooo never mind making that purchase and future purchases there. Found out I can buy the same cabinet at Bed Bath and Beyond anyways with my 20% off coupon.
Worst of all, I couldn't complain to the manger because another associate told me she is...
Read moreGreat location, nice prices on some things, and they have a lot of wonderful items. But their aisles are WAY too small for carts, let alone two carts. The aisles are always a mess when we go and the employees are always leaving their items in the aisles, thus blocking the aisles further.
We bought a paint-a-pot garden so that my daughter can paint the pot and tend to some flowers. Super cute, good price, but they put the sticker directly on the pot so it was hard to get off and left a sticky mess on the pot. Should have just had the sticker on the part you cut off and throw away from the pot, the label. Would have been easier.
But again it is a nice store, just very small...
