Went in on the night of 22 October 2022 to check to see if they had any of that delicious gyoza left. Sadly, they had none left, but this is not the reason for deducting 4 stars. Allow me to explain: I rode in on a hoverboard and did not get off not thinking there would be a problem with me doing that. The only thing I was going to get was the gyoza anyway and I had already turned around to leave right as the store manager (as of the time of this review) Ramon Rendon showed up and said he could not have me on the hoverboard in the store. I did not know. Honest mistake. So I told him that I was already intent on leaving anyway. Everything would have been fine and I would have not only been willing to return in the future even without the hoverboard entirely, but not have had to write this review had Rendon not ended our interaction with "Okay, then if you could just get out..." That kind of attitude from the STORE MANAGER of ALL PEOPLE has effectively discouraged me from returning at all. I already struggle badly enough with mental health issues that being on my hoverboard helps with. I actually would have still gotten some water or something while not on the hoverboard, but Rendon's unprofessional behaviour turned me away even from that. Contacted corporate through their help desk that night. I was not expecting them to respond the following day since this DID happen on a weekend. Left corporate the information necessary. Not sure if they called, but if they did, they did not follow my instructions to leave a message in the event that I do not answer the phone. I am not slamming Stater Bros as a whole, though; it is only this location whose store manager I had a problem with. Waiting to hear back from either one. Until then, I will not be returning to...
Read moreLongtime customer of this store. My first career was in the supermarket business, so I notice all the things I used to have to deal with for a decade. Sad to see all the changes over the past few years here, the biggest is the removal of tons of sku's, replacing national and specialty brands with Stater Bros house brands. I also realize there's supply side issues, but this store still has lots of empty slots, which I see other markets, including other Stater Bros have been able to fill. Today I went in and the store reeked of a meat department that desperately needed cleaning. Unusual for this location, but a signal management is letting things slide. When I see this happening in a supermarket like this, regardless of which chain, it tells me there's pressure from upper management to increase profits. Maybe competition is getting too fierce. I've always enjoyed this store. I hope they turn this store...
Read moreFor nearly 30 years, we’ve been doing our main grocery shopping at Stater Brothers in Poway—a group of ladies in our 70s who have loyally supported this store. Today, on All Saints Day, we experienced such disrespect that it left us heartbroken. We chose a bouquet of flowers to bring to our mother’s grave, assuming they were included in the advertised 50% off floral sale. When we found out they weren’t discounted, we still purchased them out of respect for the occasion. Unfortunately, for a simple $6.50 difference on a $12.99 bouquet, the cashier was rude, and the manager showed no empathy. Instead of treating us with kindness, he told us to “get out of the store.” We left feeling deeply hurt and disappointed after decades of loyalty. We hope leadership sees this and reminds the Poway staff about the importance of treating customers with respect...
