The hotel is in a great location, just a 5-minute walk from Providence train station and a 4-minute walk to the bus station to many attractions. The hotel receptionist was very friendly and the check-in process was fast. He helped us exchange quarters for the washing machine and dryer. We could also buy $2 laundry detergent at the reception. The room is large and clean, king size bed. The sofa bed is not flat but the blanket is very comfortable. There is a Japanese supermarket Maruichi within a 7-minute walk, which sells vegetables, meat, instant noodles, snacks, drinks, seasonings, rice balls, sushi, etc. However, there are not many choices of fruits. The hotel staff suggested to go to Trader Joe's, which is 1 mile away, to have more fruits and vegetable choices. There are Dunkin donuts and 7-Eleven near the hotel, both within a 5-minute walk, so shopping is very convenient. Although the tableware in the kitchen was not very complete, it was still enough to cook simple meals. We couldn't find the switch for the range hood (kitchen ventilation), so the smell in the room lingered for a long time after cooking. The kitchen didn't come with a sponge or dishwashing liquid, even though we only used a few dishes and pots, which had to be washed in the dishwasher. Another thing worth to mention is the breakfast has a wide range of variety: cereal, bagel, toast, juice, coffee, fruit, pancake, yogurt, sousage and eggs. It only takes 10 minutes to walk from here to Brown University and RISD. There are many steep slopes along the way, but the view of the city from the commanding heights is very beautiful. I highly recommend staying at Homewood Suite

My wife and I used to love to stay here until we had one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. GO TO THE OMNI, DO NOT STAY HERE! We arrived on Saturday February 10th. When we arrived the valet situation was chaos. I tried to be very understanding as it seemed the staff was in a frenzy to figure something out. The guy covering valet had no idea how to work it, how to properly drive a car (he took 5 times to back a car into a spot he had already parked it in each of the 5 times. He was extremely slow and aggresive with other guests as I waited 20 minutes just to have my keys taken. When handing my keys over I wasnt even sure I would even get my car back. I would have parked the car myself but the hotel themselves have told me on other stays it is cheaper to valet because you don’t have to pay the lot next door each time. We came down later that night around 9 to run an errand, we figured he would be slower and had time to recover by now. When we got down there we waited another 30 minutes just to talk to him, when we did he was very rude and asked what I wanted. I told him we had been waiting a long time and would like our car. He proceeded to look and look for our keys but couldn't find them just like with the customer before us who took a picture of their rental keys to make sure they could get them back. As he was getting flustered he got more and more aggressive towards my wife and I. I told him we just wanted our keys and to leave. He puffed up his chest and me and got in my face. With my wife there I made sure to get in between him and my wife and was prepared for him to throw a punch my way. My wife quickly reacted and yelled for the front desk guy who came rushing down to defuse the situation. I also have PTSD and this interaction was the last thing we needed. The front desk guy Sergio was great, even as the valet guy kept trying to get him to leave us alone Sergio would not and even walked us to our car leaving the entire hotel unattended. My wife and I ran our errand and came back. We checked out due to feeling unsafe and like as soon as the valet guy was off work he was going to go do something to our car. We checked out and thankfully Sergio gave an immediate full refund upon me telling him we were checking out and went to the Omni where we had an INCREDIBLE experience. GO TO THE OMNI! It is now Friday the 16th and I waited until now to leave a review to give Bryan J. Carlson the general manager a chance to call me and discuss his employee's behavior but I still have not heard from him. On top of that I am positive from what the valet guy told me that night that he was not properly trained or likely insured to be at that position that night. We will never stay here again and I highly highly recommend staying...

We stayed 9 nights in Nov 2021 (our first stay at this Homewood Suites and were very pleased with the accommodations and more so with the free daily breakfast that was amazing courtesy of a young woman and chef Adele who we were lucky enough to get to know during our stay (and missed very much when we left). There was always an abundance of fresh fruit and the meal changed daily (something that we have not experienced at other Homewood Suites). We had wanted to write a review to express our pleasure and gratitude for it made our stay so much more pleasant than what we have experienced in the past at other Homewood Suites. Well we had another opportunity to stay again in late Dec 2021 and looked forward to seeing Adele and enjoying her breakfast. We were also fortune enough to reserve a corner suite. Well let’s say our excitement was a bit diminished when our room was not at the level we expected. The normal supplies of cleaning wipes and laundry supplies (for hotel washer/dryer) were not provided, in room coffee supplies were lacking, the corner closet is rediculously small and the doors are so large that it’s practically unusable (seems like and afterthought or really poor design). In fact the room safe that is normally in the closet was relocated to the bedside night stand do to the lack of access to the closet. Now on to the breakfast that we were so looking forward to and seeing Adele again. When we walked in we could tell right away there was a change. No fresh fruit, cold eggs, ham and breakfast potatoes…what happened in the 30 or so days since we were here?? Adele had left and the care and passion that we saw was gone. This isn’t a $50/night hotel, this is suppose to be 5 star or at least it was. What a disappointment! It’s amazing how one person can...

My family did an extended stay due to unforseen renovations needed in our home. We initially thought it would be 2-3 weeks but ended up turning into 12 weeks!

I cannot say enough about how amazing this hotel is. From the valet parkers, to the breakfast team, the front desk clerks, cleaners, and Amanda the sales coordinator, they made it feel like home. We have two daughters who were not happy to have to leave their home but the staff treated them incredibly well, consistently and genuinely. They did not want to leave when we checked out!

Rooms: The rooms were clean, bright, and comfortable. Beds were comfortable and we slept great every night. bathrooms were well stocked, clean and modern.

Breakfast: Anne, Marie and Crystal were kind and hospitable, more than I have seen in any hotel I have stayed in. Our girls adored them and they made them feel like family. The food was fresh and delicious and always well stocked. Great variety.

Valet Parkers: Matt, David, Kenny, and Matt were amazing. Every time we pulled up they came out smiling and treated my family so well. They went above and beyond and made what was a very long process much less stress free. There were times where the hotel was full and guests were coming in droves, yet they were efficient and courteous throughout.

Cleaners: Every time our rooms were cleaned to was done with incredible standards and with consistency.

Desk Clerks: Very hospitable, kind, and efficient. Always smiling.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Amanda who helped with our stay, was kind, efficient and went above and beyond to make our stay special. If you are staying in Providence book at the Homewood Suites by Hilton. Great hotel, great staff, great views, and a great location! You will...
