Within The Beatrice Hotel: Tony was a shining star! He checked me in and was so attentive. He also introduced me to Diamond as she would be there for the remainder of the evening and she assisted me as well. He explained the elevator to me and helped me with my bags to the room. He gave me five-star service with a smile. He was so helpful and showed off the room to me as he knew it was my first time there. He knew my heart (& bum) would love the heated toilet seat on a winter’s night! He made me feel like I was home seeing long-lost loved ones after a long trip.
Diamond was on top of things. She was multi-tasking well and remembered us when we would pass the front desk. She gave us directions, answered our questions, and helped make my arrival experience overall successful and welcoming. I came in like a tornado on a mission. She calmed me, took her time to explain things to me and get me settled. We had a noisy neighbor on our floor and the other guests thought it was us but it was the room on the opposite side. She very professionally handled the situation with grace and confidence which is big! She called then called again and went up to the other room. It was handled perfectly. She apologized to me when I went to the desk to let her know it was the room on the other side as she called us as we were leaving the room. Not her fault. You assume the guests know what their left and right are. She was there the entire evening and even took a photograph of us for our memories of a lovely evening. She’s was a gem and will be greater in the upcoming months.
Within Bellini: My food was delicious with a good presentation. See attached photographs. I loved the plating, but I heard the Karens complaining. It reminded me of my Nonna’s old plates and I love a good flashback! Everything was delectable. The pasta just melted in your mouth. Dessert was perfect & my crème brulee’s lemon was HEAVEN! DM me for more food info because I can talk food all day, but I’d rather highlight the service as the pictures shall speak for themselves. Trust me!
Alesso (or Alexo) brought our bottle of wine and was so professional. He was simple elegance at its best. He was just friendly enough while being welcoming and professional. I can tell he’s a cool uncle type with a big heart, but he’s at work so you only get a glimpse.
Abby was our main server for the evening. She really blossomed throughout the night. She was simply adorable. She made my dinner what it was and although the food was delicious Abby was the cherry on top! Truly. She knew the menu, ate the menu, gave me all the suggestions that mattered to me and my stomach. She's a gem. She deserves one of those pink blazers. If y'all don't buy her one, I will! Also, she is one of the best servers I've ever had. She's quite adaptable and although young and probably not in this forever, she should be promoted. This should be your trainer for incoming servers. You could also use her at the Front Desk in The Beatrice. I truly believe you have an asset in her. Everything is genuine and she's got the best mannerisms and involvement within her tables.
Myra was also a sweetheart we encountered. She is simply gorgeous just like Abby, but I can tell she just hangs in the back and lets the others shine. She came to fill our waters, drop off miscellaneous items and just check in with the table. She was friendly, warm, and easily embraced hospitality. She, too, should have a more elevated guest-facing role. She’s quite the peach! I’m sure she was wondering why I asked her name same as Alesso. I just stopped them in the middle of the dining room and asked their names which they told me without hesitation, but I didn’t tell them why. She deserves recognition and I am sure it rarely, if ever, happens. Please let her know we...
Read moreSorry, this was a miss, and a disappointment. You're paying for a small room that looks nice but feels like it was designed to look at, not live in. That and a $2000 toilet (not kidding). No conveniences, the lobby is an alley (again, not kidding) and if you want anything at all, it's a 10 minute walk to a sketchy 7/11. Annoying pocket door on the bathroom with no handle, the steamer broke, you're allowed 1 cup (8oz) of ice in your tiny ice bucket, and there's no instructions for how to use anything in the room (wth is this dial on the wall in the bathroom? Oh, it's the volume for the TV in the other room (the speaker was broken anyway)). $45 a night for parking, which they charged us for even though we didn't use it, and $150 a night incidental fee. The restaurant and rooftop bar were supposed to be open, but weren't when we were there, and the coffee shop is not open on weekends. We thought we'd get the Go Providence pass for a $100 gift card to use around the city, but you have to pay $80 extra a night to get that - yes, you read that right, we had to confirm it too. It's a minimum 2 nights to get the gift card too, so if you stay 5 nights and want that $100 gift card, that's an extra $400, and the card is all you get extra. We were kind of just laughing the whole time at how cheaply they were trying to be "rich". Nice bed and windows though I guess.
Edit: we paid $325-350 per night on a weekend; it was lower on weekdays but we saw peaks around $600...
Read moreWe are in the Providence area often and we were anxious to try The Beatrice based on the many positive reviews. Our welcome experience was lovely. The front desk lady was friendly and the lobby, while small and narrow was pretty. We walked into our room and thought “wow, look at this large hallway, so much space!” However, that long hallway gave way to a tiny box of a room. A bed, a desk almost touching the bed and a sliding door to a bathroom. It was smaller than a hotel room in NYC. The floors in the room had odd stains on them- as if someone had cleaned them with the wrong product. There isn’t much to comment on the actual room as it was literally just a box. Oh- the curtains didn’t fully close! The bathroom had some features that should add a luxury touch but they just left us feeling like they were trying too hard. A Dyson hair dryer and a fancy, heated toilet…but the bathroom door did not fully close. We stayed for 2 nights. The first day, every time we left the room we had to pass some dirty sheets that were left in the hallway. The second day, a giant, used air filter was propped up in the hall for a long time. |The location is great in downtown Providence and the staff was nice enough, but there was nothing that made the Beatrice worth the significant amount of extra money that it cost over the plethora of hotels in the immediate area. I can not figure out where all these five star reviews are...
