Lots of homeless and addicts hanging about. I took my son for a walk though Providence on Labor Day Monday and he asked to stop at the park to play. Park itself was lovely, but there were lots of people camped out just sleeping in the middle of the day. Openly drinking alcohol and many "nodders", some asked us for money preying on a child's innocence. My son saw a dog and couldn't resist asking to pet. The owner was falling on the ground and repeatedly dropping his bottle of unlabeled pills. Filthy hands asking to shake my sons hand. I had to have a very unfortunate conversation with my...

I’ve been through very urban neighborhoods and this block of providence had me on guard.

I can see authorities giving the block as a way to contain it. I’ve seen the same in other jurisdictions. Once an element steps off the block though, they are open game.

Idk that is what providence does but I did see this block divided up into various units by those who assemble there. Looked like a yard to me.

Wouldn’t walk my wife and child...

We like to visit with the kids this playground when we come here from Boston. Last time we came around 7pm on Saturday. I must admit it was a little scarier to be there. I didn't feel safe at all. There were rats around the fountain, in all the trash cans and on the playground. The park was full with junkies and homeless people. I do understand that they don't have any place to live, but the city should solve somehow this problem and help...

Burnside Park during times of festival activities offers a pleasant space from the warmer city streets. And is for band presentations and artistic creatives to share their wares. But during the normal week to week cycle, it is a small city park plagued with the same issues of most large cities and not really the best space to visit. Roger Williams a block away is better, Lippet Park is a great walk on the boulevard. India point is also preferable.

Fun park for kids! Definitely more for kids older than 5. Cool rope boats and climbing ropes. The only downside is it is near a bus station so there is a decent amount of teenagers hanging around, but they were friendly and did not get in the way of the kids playing. Although it seems like some teenagers did vandalize the park a little bit. It is located downtown so there are homeless people nearby but it was not in the park area. Fun for kids.

Nice park that has a lot going on, especially during summer. It is somewhat small, but has a really nice playground for kids. There’s always something going on here, from marching bands to political rallies to farmer’s markets. It’s definitely not the cleanest park in Providence, lots of huge rats running around at night. All in all a good park to come see on a summer day.
