Best hotel, best staff, best sleep and best everything on our road trip. We'd like to say THANK YOU for doing things differently and for doing them with love and heart. We’re also sending a shoutout to the two wonderful ladies who checked us in on July 26 and who worked in the morning of July 27. Helpful, kind, sweet and warm are just some of your talents and we felt welcome and at home away from home!
About the place: It has been completely renovated just recently, so everything’s new and up to date. The beds are to die in (please don’t!), we had the best nights sleep of all our road trip nights in it. All rooms display works from local artists which can be purchased and all revenue goes in full to the artists. How beautiful is that? If it matters to you, you’ll also find the largest ever hotel TV in your room, which has RokuTV integrated, so you’ll have your Netflix, Hulu etc. accessible. Are you a gamer? You’ll also find a remake of a retro gaming console with hundreds of old games at your service - yes, also in your room. The fridge and microwave are hip!
There’s plenty of parking available, too. When we arrived, we thought all lots are reserved but the names in each lot are to honor local artists and other people who have ties to or who have made an impact on Pullman and the region. Only now we’ve learned that Dolph Lundgren had a scholarship at WSU! :) If your ride is electric, you’ll find two charging stations as well!
The front and side porches invite to relax with chess and other board games and even offer outdoor gas fireplaces! We enjoyed our evening talk with drinks in chairs in front of the fire. Beautiful.
In the morning you’ll be served an oatmeal breakfast but not just any! You can choose from a big variety of toppings and we particularly loved the cinnamon bits, the almonds, the brown sugar (which caramelizes) and the shredded coconut.
Absolutely loved our stay and will come back any time, whenever our way leads us to Pullman again. You’ve created a great space which separates itself very positively from regular hotels. That is because of all the great ideas you’ve put into this project but first and foremost because of your lovely staff. Thank you from Germany and...
Read moreWe stayed one night at Hotel McCoy in July 2025 while visiting friends who live and work on the nearby university campus. This place is pet-friendly and recently updated with a fun, modern interior. The room had streaming options, a retro Nintendo setup, air conditioning, and a giant, super comfy bed—such a treat!
We arrived around 2 PM on a Sunday, not realizing check-in wasn’t until 3 PM (we made great time driving in from Portland). The front desk clerk was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Since our room wasn’t quite ready, he recommended a nearby park—which turned out to be perfect. Our Frenchie loved running around and getting some energy out.
At 3 PM, we checked into our room and were pleasantly surprised with two complimentary drink tokens. The lobby has a cute little setup with draft and bottled beer, wine, snacks, and cozy seating. The whole vibe was cool, funky, and laid-back. While we didn’t get a chance to enjoy the common areas, we noticed they had fun touches like foosball, giant tic-tac-toe, a telescope, and more.
Most of our time was spent exploring campus and eating good food around Moscow, ID with our friends. Check-in and check-out were both a breeze—we received a code via text for room access (no key cards to worry about!), and checking out was as easy as sending a text.
As we were hitting the road, we realized we’d lost an earring and figured it was gone. But then we received a thoughtful text letting us know that housekeeping had found it and offered to ship it back to us! Even though it wasn’t anything valuable, we were so impressed by their attentiveness and care—it really showed how much they value their guests and their belongings.
For the price and quality, this was one of the best hotel stays we’ve had. We’ll definitely be back when visiting our friends again. HIGHLY...
Read moreGreat location in downtown Pullman, walkable to lots of shops and restaurants. Neat update to the old location, very hip design. A couple of good outdoor spaces. Lounge staff was super nice and helpful. Breakfast is mainly oatmeal bar, which was good for me. Lots of beer and wine options.
Parking lot is a little tight, large vehicles will have challenges. We were ok in 4dr Jeep Wrangler, with some slow maneuvering. There are two EV spots and two accessible spots. We liked how they labeled each spot with a local name/phrase, several we didn't already know. Learned a few new trivia bits!
Bed was very comfortable. Roku TV and Nintendo game system was fun. In-room mini fridge, mini microwave, and small safe (enough for some jewelry, not a laptop). No in-room coffee/tea, but free in lobby. (Not sure if decaf, though, maybe have to ask.)
Biggest problem was the bathroom. Very visually appealing, but more form than function. Sink had hot/cold water opposite. Mirror was small and chest-high on me (I'm 6'4"), so I couldn't shave. We had to ask for an extra roll of TP, no spares in the room.
And the shower was miniscule. Maybe 2.5' square. We're not large people, fairly limber, but had trouble showering. Rainfall showerhead is really high. At my height, I appreciate a tall showerhead. But my wife (5'4") couldn't reach it to tilt, so was stuck with where I left it. Maybe other rooms have different layouts, but the shower in room 18 is not great. I'd suggest that the owners try to take a shower once and see how it goes (specifically try to wash armpits and ..."undercarriage" without...
