Niche and Dime — Local services in Raleigh

Massive collection of goods from all kinds of fandoms. The store flows well and is easier to process all the stuff than similar stores in the mall. SO many blind boxes, and they're constantly changing/adding new stuff. No matter the day, I find myself exploring the whole store every time. They change/shift/add new stuff it seems almost daily or every other day. Yeah, their prices may be higher than online, but I'd rather pay a little more to have it in my hands today, than to increase my carbon footprint with online orders. It's also extremely evident that they support collectors and genuinely want to bridge folks to their interests more than just making money. It's a business, so there's always gonna be some markup, but I never feel manipulated or stressed like other stores that force long queues with only like 6 labubus available to save $5-$10. For me, my time is worth a lot more.

I've NEVER seen this store without labubus. They may sell out of some things occasionally, but they keep those labubus handy. AND THEY'RE REAL. I think I appreciate more than anything that they provide access to REAL hard-to-find collectibles/blind boxes in a trusted environment.

The vibes are also very fun and whimsical. Every one of the staff is friendly, but not too forward. I always appreciate a kind check-in, but they give you space to shop/not feel watched and were available to answer any questions. It's crazy the amount of knowledge the staff has on like all of the current fads/fandoms. One gentleman (I think his name was Aaron) answered any questions I or others had without hesitation. He also got genuinely excited to hear about my interests and show me different items that he he found cool and thought I would also enjoy. It's always a sweet, supportive experience and weird to say, but I always leave the store in a better mood than I entered. I can't say enough how much I love this store and their staff. We bought our African Dwarf Frogs from this store around 3 years ago. Because of this staff, our sweet pets have been thriving!

We recently lost our boy last week and when we came in to the store to get more food for our girl, we mentioned the loss of her mate. Knowing these animals thrive with a mate, Kevin graciously gave us another mate.

This store has always given us the food, tips and support to care for our little pets.

I saw someone post earlier that they visited the store and saw a frog "struggle " to get to the top. This is quite normal. They just enjoy the swim float routine. And sometimes they move slower if temperatures change but it is brief.

Besides having lots and lots of fun gifts, this store really cares about these little guys. They have always supported the care and ensured we had everything we need to give these little guys a quality of life and we have enjoyed them for years!

I'm not sure of the owner's name, but I'd like to comment that their staff is amazing and we have always enjoyed our trips there.

They did get me addicted to these 🐸 🐸!!!

Which by the way are fun, easy to care for and I love hearing them sing and watching them hang out.

Today my daughter and I brought our 3 year old female back to the store to show them how she is doing. Because of their help, our girl is thriving! I could not have done this without their help!

I went shopping this evening and stopped by this store as it appeared to have cute trinkets from the outside. I walked around the store looking at items deciding what to buy. The same girl kept asking me “are you doing okay” “do you need help with that” everytime I stopped to look at something. She was literally watching me shop the entire time. I picked up an item right next to her at the register that I wanted to purchase and then continued walking around the store to see what else I would find. I walked towards the front of the store near the chip clips and she came speed walking over to me again asking “are you doing okay? do you want me to hold that for you at the register?” I said “no, im fine im still shopping”. She then continued to say “well it’s kind of our policy that we don't really like people grabbing stuff from near the register and then walking towards the front of the store” and then stuck her hand out. What kind of policy is this? I was flabbergasted. I then handed her my item and decided to leave without making a purchase. Her insinuation that I was planning on stealing was uncalled for and cost this store a sale. I have never been accused of stealing and was shocked by this public accusation. I do not recommend anyone give this store their business. I was with 2 friends. We were all women of color. We were watched the entire time from the moment we walked in until her verbal accusation.
