Been coming here annually for over 6 years. This year was the first time we have really felt the need to provide some negative feedback. We always stay concierge level w access to the roof hot tubs, beach umbrellas included, oceanfront, and a couple other small perks. Most of the staff is friendly - not been an issue. Check-in/check-out is usually fine. The rooms on the 4th floor are always impeccably clean. The style is outdated, but that’s just the whole place and part of their charm. The birds are fine. The beds are typically fine, as is the bathroom. This year also welcomed smart TVs - at least in the sitting area. We successfully connected to Netflix, but we couldn’t get anything else to connect. ||This time we had a couple problems. Three issues, specifically:|1. The WiFi in the room was weak. So weak. We called the front desk, they reset the router. Still weak. Couldn’t get onto a zoom call or connect to a Google doc. Had to use personal hotspot from phone. They need to address the weakness on the 4th floor (or anywhere else in the building that is weak). |2. The coffee in the garden that the Concerge Level guests get until 10am each day. In past years it was great - always fresh even at 10am or later. This year, first day it was empty at 950am. Let the restaurant know, and they said it was because people were realizing it was there more now, so it empties sooner. They gave us a cup from the restaurant. Happened the next day at 930 also. The The following day I got up late and went at 1030. Empty of course, so I went to the restaurant and had to pay for a cup of coffee when I told them I missed coffee in the garden. My bad, I own that, but the hostess seemed annoyed. Last day we went fairly early at 930, and there was 1|Cups worth left, so we took it. I feel bad for anyone who came after. It ended up being more stressful than it was worth most days, and that was not the case in past years. If they know the additional usage is an issue, they need to replenish more frequently. |3. This one may deter some and may encourage others to come here. Part of what we have enjoyed about this place over the years is the inclusivity of the staff and clientele. There is always a variety of clientele - families, gay couples, friend couples, newlyweds, older couples, etc. The staff is also very eclectic with several openly gay people working at the desk and restaurant, and many of the housekeeping staff being from another country. We always got the vibe that anyone and everyone is welcomed, and we loved that. This time we noticed that there were multiple pro-Trump items in the curio cabinet in the lobby. I was shocked. As we checked out, we noticed one of the gay couples from our floor complaining about it to the front desk, as the items were being removed by one of the staff. The front desk indicated that they had received other complaints about it, but they had to get permission from the owner to remove it. So, while people are entitled to support who they want to and have whatever opinion they want, I am finding it very difficult to support an establishment where the owner is so blatant about their support of a person who spews hatred for many of their own staff and clientele. We are considering alternative places to stay and spend our money as a result of this, as it all seems like smoke in mirrors now. I only hope their staff doesn’t get deported by ICE, as they...
Read moreWe had a pretty good time here. The location is right on the boardwalk, near the main strip. The hotel is very clean. Some areas that are a little tight. The building could use a little updating. The TVs in the rooms are subpar smart tvs. The Chromecast on them doesnt really work, but you are able to login to Netflix on them where you'll see it's a little glitchy on the playback. We visited the restaurant downstairs, which was decent, but in comparison to the other restaurants in the Area, it's not worth the prices. Lots of kids running around the hallways as well. It harshed the vibe of the deluxe couple's ocean view room. Cleaning staff was very abrupt and loud, yelling to eachother down the hall and banging into the walls with their equipment during cleaning. I've seen different variations of that being less bothersome in other hotels, but considering this is a smaller, older building, the sounds we're amplified. The room was also most certainly NOT what I paid for. It was on the side of the building, where yes, you could just barely see the ocean. The balcony was extremely small. 2 people could not sit out there comfortably and the view was blocked by a tree and the building. A refund may have been due, but we wanted to enjoy ourselves and didn't ask.
I wanted to give a shout out to some absolutely awesome people that work here! Eli, is fabulous and extremely considerate! When my partner and I were feeling under the weather, she helped us get a couple simple items like toast and fruit from the breakfast menu even though it was 4pm. Jason, a wonderful welcome to the front desk on our arrival, just an awesome personality to be around. Adrian, one of the bartenders was so kind and made us some practically award winning drinks.
A bit of a hiccup on the trip, there is one person that was far from pleasant at the front desk, Amy. Amy was rather and rude snarky over the phone. Anything we ever asked her was met with essentially a "thats not my job" type of attitude. She really needs a couple of crash courses in hospitality, even just being shadowed for a time. I can't imagine she makes anyone else there comfortable with how we were treated by her. In one of the conversations I had with her, I was checking out a day early because my fiance and I were under the weather. She didn't even care in the slightest, no "omg, im so sorry. We really hope you feel better." Instead, she said "youre not getting a refund, you know?" In such an assertive tone. Why yes, Amy. Well aware. We've stayed in many hotels before. Considering I didn't start with asking for a refund should have spoke to where I was going in the conversation. We just wanted to check out early and have a bell hop help us to the car with our stuff. Couldn't even get that. I had to haul everything down in a couple trips while fighting the urge to throw up from nausea. That really put a bad taste in my mouth after the whole experience. This would have been, at the very least, a 4 star rating without the presence of Amy during our stay. We will be trying a different location during our next visit due to this.
A big thank you to everyone here and those i didn't name for making our...
Read moreFirst time visiting. Here now. Just my daughter (8yo) and I. We love the oceanfront view. The chairs on the balcony aren’t the cleanest, but they’re on risers so when u sit down u can see over top of the balcony hand rail and see the beach. Our oceanfront view is awesome, make sure u get that! Otherwise the hotel would be blah for us. It has a vintage theme, I get it, but the furniture appears overly worn, and could use refreshing. Our room is clean, VERY small frig isn’t too cold- can barely sit a drink upright, beds are just ok for me but comfy for her, can’t figure out the safe instructions, it’s quiet at night which is nice, staff is extremely helpful, love the view of the beach when in the elevator…do NOT like the pool, it’s very small and a tiny portion of it (that fits 4 adults) is outside. It’s def catered to adults and not kids, in my opinion. My 8yo is disappointed as she was hoping for a larger, UNheated pool; it was oddly very warm which felt weird, esp the small area that was outside. Bottomline, the hotel is nice and clean which is a must for me. The view is great. It’s quiet. Staff is helpful. Not a fan of the small heated pool. Frig needs to be larger to at least accommodate a regular sized soft drink. Oh, I like that the AC isn’t near the bed and blowing in our faces at night, which it is in so many hotels. Also, there’s Complementary beach towel service and discount tix u can present to the guys on the beach for an umbrella and chairs. Heads up, they do take the chairs/umbrellas down at 5pm when lifeguards go off duty for the day. Next time, I’ll bring my own because the chairs were kind of raggedy. We had brkfst in the hotel on our last day and it was very good. Kudos to the chef! I couldn’t find the vending machines although they’re shown on the hotels website pics. Guess I could’ve asked but I didn’t. Less than a minute walk to the boardwalk which was great. Free parking on top deck or underground, although it’s quite tight down there. Don’t be in a hurry to go anywhere because the elevator is slow as running molasses. Anyway, we enjoyed our stay at Rehoboth but I’m not quite sure I would stay at this...
