Funland is a small, family-owned amusement park on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. It's been around since 1962, and it's a popular spot for families with young children.

The park has a variety of rides, including kiddie rides, thrill rides, and arcade games. Some of the most popular rides include the Sea Dragon roller coaster, the Bumper Cars, and the Tilt-A-Whirl. There's also a small water park with a water slide and a kiddie pool.

The arcade is a great place to win prizes. There are hundreds of games to choose from, including skee-ball, air hockey, and basketball. You can also buy tickets to play the Claw machine.

Funland is a great place to spend a day with the family. It's affordable, the rides are fun, and the staff is friendly.

Affordable

Variety of rides for all ages

Friendly staff

Go on a weekday or during the off-season to avoid the crowds.

Purchase your tickets online in advance to save time.

Funland is perhaps the amusement park that I have visited the most throughout my life thanks to family renting/hosting a house or condo. Traditionally, it had the best value of any oceanfront park throughout the mid-Atlantic, with a ticket system that was designed to provide the entire family with a couple hours of fun without breaking the budget. Unfortunately, especially since 2020, that relative bargain has unmercifully chipped away. In 2021, there was a steep price increase in the cost of tickets, jumping from 35 cents each in 2020 to 75 cents each as of 2025. It was 20 cents/ticket in the 1990s, 25 cents in the early 2000s, 30 cents in the late 2000s/early 2010s, and 35 cents in the mid-late 2010s. Yes, there are "deals" where buying more tickets will save you individually, but even the least expensive is now 100 tickets for $55, which is still considerably more expensive than the unit price prior to the last increase. In addition, 2025 brought an increase in the number of tickets to ride many of the rides. The Gravitron (that spinning, retro futuristic silvery dome that once had a cool sound when it started) now costs 6 tickets each when it once cost four, then five tickets, and even the carousel increased from its long-running two to three tickets. The arcade prizes aren't as enticing as its boardwalk competitors for the redemption machines, but thankfully, many of the games for plush prizes are still fun, even if no longer the bargain. That said, the staff do a nice job of keeping the rides operational most of the time, its fairly clean, and the compact layout makes it hard to get lost. I enjoy the bumper cars and Haunted Mansion the most, given that they provide unquiet settings that incorporate the boardwalk. Sea Dragon, the pirate ship ride, goes about as high as it does without inverting, so it can be intense. Chaos is the most intense and can give you motion sickness if you're not fit, and even the Paratrooper can go surprisingly fast that passed me out for a day after tolerating it when I was younger, so keep that in mind. With unlimited wristband prices at Jolly Roger down in Ocean City at a similar price when used fully with better rides (for now), Funland is slowly becoming a place of nostalgia rather than enjoying the same rides at higher prices. But if you haven't been there before and want to experience a beachfront amusement experience,...

Our experience was during COVID so it may be different when you go.

We had to purchase a wrist band for 2 hours of unlimited rides, $20 a pop. I wish I didn't have to spend the $20 on the adults because I just wanted to go because of my 3 yr old son. He couldn't ride everything but he could ride most. I hate the places that charge adults to just stand there while the kids have fun. There is a fair amount of rides for younger kids to ride. My 3yr old couldn't ride maybe 2 rides so I don't feel he was missing much. I do think that older kids don't have as many options to ride though, there 5-6 rides for little ones like the boats in the water that make noises and the fire trucks that go in a circle. Older kids have limited rides so take that into consideration. I did notice that the tickets during non-COVID times were priced well. We did stay for the entire 2 hours as our kid was having a good time and he was able to rotate the rides so he was on everything a few times. 80% of the area is under a roof so it was nice and cool on a very hot day. There wasn't too many people in there and they were still selling wrist bands to get into our time period and I didn't feel it was too packed. Only 1 ride had a line otherwise it was wait for the ride to be over and then jump on. Staff was very nice and fun. They helped little ones get on/off rides if they needed help and weren't rude. Would I do this again? Yea, probably but with only 1 adult. We ultimately spent $60 for our 1 kid to ride some rides. A few we did have to ride with him so he could go but we were there...
