We stayed during labor day weekend and our rooms were ~450/night. It was comparable to other hotels on the same weekend. I'm assuming that it will be cheaper but still slightly higher due to location when you shop around for hotels in the area.
The location is definitely something that you are paying for. With such close proximity to the beach it doesn't take long to find a good spot that's close to the public restrooms. Thrashers it's right next to it which is always a plus. Also, if you have kids be prepared to spend money at zelkys and funland since it's only a stones throw away (both were fun too).
Comparing my stay here to one I had at the Admiral on Baltimore I'd much prefer this one. The rooms were significantly nicer but smaller than the Admirals. Both stays were literally right next to the boardwalk so I'd say it's a fair comparison between the 2 hotels.
One big issue I had with this place is the grab and go continental breakfast. We tried it the first morning. We selected the "cold" option which included parfaits and fresh fruit cup. When we received them they were not something you'd want to eat. The parfait looked watery at the top with soggy strawberries on top as if they've just been premade a few days back. When we tried it we couldn't muster a second bite. The fruit which was melon, cantaloupe, and grapes were sour tasting - again, something I'd think was prepared a few days back and sat in a fridge until a guest ordered it. I wouldn't recommend choosing to have the breakfast when there are plenty of better options around you. Royal treat next door is cheap and much much better than any free option you'd get here. If continental breakfasts are your jam - I'd recommend going elsewhere. The ocean glass inn which is much farther away from the boardwalk has superb breakfast options for even the pickiest eaters (with all of it grab and go) and also with name brand products (general mill cereals, kind bars, coke products, etc)
But if you don't care for breakfast, this hotel is pretty nice for what it is. I would come here again.
Oh and there's no room service due to covid precautions. So if you want your trash pulled you'll have to place it in front of your door and if you want towels you'll have to go to the front desk. Also, you can rent beach chairs out for free which is nice (they're a little janky though, we...
Read moreEverything on the hotel was great. Making reservations online was simple and easy, and you could easily pick the room type and number of people when reserving a room. I just had a couple of nitpicks that I'll get into in a bit. The location is perfect! Room was spotless and cleaned daily. Loved the touch of wine and cheese 5pm and the warm cookies at 8pm. Had a room at the pool level. Washer and dryer onsite. $1 each in quarters. Bring your own quarters and detergent yourself though in advance of your trip, as I have read in prior reviews that the front desk doesn't carry detergent or have change. Expect to pay $2 for the dryer for 2 cycles though since they won't be completely dry after 1 cycle. Here are my nitpicks. Parking is painful. I feel like there aren't enough spaces. And if you have to park in the garage area, it's TIGHT. But the good thing is parking is free for guests. WiFi is spotty at best. I brought this up to the desk but felt like nothing got done and that's just the way it is. I just said forget it and used my 5G. If they ever fix this issue it would definitely up my rating. If you have to do work, connect to your phone's mobile hotspot or bring your own mobile hotspot. Sliding doors to the balcony are a bear to open. You need brute strength. I asked several times to get it fixed but I don't think anything can get done without having to take the entire sliding door off the track to fix it. Edit. It finally got fixed right before we checked out, so that's good. Breakfast is adequate for what they have. We didn't plan on having it anyway as we went out each day but it's still a nice touch. This one issue is not the hotel's fault but this is an FYI for the other guests. If you're doing laundry,.PLEASE be vigilant about putting your clothes in the dryer and then taking them away! Some idiot left their clothes in the washer all day. Totally inconsiderate. This isn't a college dorm! I had to throw their clothes out of the washer to do my own laundry! Other that that, we enjoyed our stay and will...
Read moreI am honestly very surprised, pleasantly so, with my stay at The Beach View hotel. We check out in the morning, but I will definitely return.
The front desk staff was so friendly upon our arrival and throughout our short two-night stay.
Check-in was a breeze.
They serve a nice free breakfast each morning. The breakfast biscuit sandwiches were great as was the frittata.
There is a nightly wine and cheese service in the early evening, and warm cookies in the later evening hours. Both are served in the cute lobby.
The rooms are charming, overall well maintained, and smell fresh and clean. The bed was firm but comfortable.
The best part is the proximity to everything! The boardwalk and beach is mere steps away. There are fantastic dining options as close as directly across the parking lot. There is honestly no need to even move your car unless you plan to venture further from city center.
This hotel is a gem. I was nervous booking because some "billing issues" are mentioned in other reviews. But those seem to stem from folks not reading the welcome letter that does indeed mention an additional $20.00 per person per night for any guest over two adults. This didn't apply to me, but it does show this information multiple times on the website and the booking confirmation.
There is free onsite parking. I personally didn't have an issue finding a spot, but we are here off-season before the crowd surge. Things MIGHT be more complicated then.
There is elevator access to all floors.
If you are looking for an amazing hotel run by staff who seem to love what they do; just steps from shopping, dining, bars, beach, and boardwalk, then...
