Having just celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary at this remarkable Italian establishment, my wife and I were completely taken with the whole experience. The restaurant embodies a warm charm that only a truly authentic Italian restaurant can. With a harmonious blend of rustic and elegant aesthetics, it was nothing short of magical. The dimmed lights, softly playing music, and cozy seating, coupled with the joyous chatter, created an ambiance that was effortlessly romantic and inviting, striking a perfect balance for our special occasion.
What set the experience apart was the wonderful team that runs the place. Right from the moment we stepped in, the staff displayed an admirable level of professionalism and warmth, making us feel entirely welcome. Our 3-year-old daughter was with us, and their accommodation and lovely interaction with her only heightened our overall satisfaction. It's seldom you find a restaurant that can expertly cater to the dynamic needs of a family while maintaining a high standard of service.
The food, the very soul of this Italian gem, was exquisite. Each dish we sampled was an adventure in flavors, as though a culinary tour through Italy's heartland. The taste was evidently fresh, well-balanced, and bursting with rustic Italian goodness. The pricing was reasonable considering the excellent quality and presentation of the food, thus proving great value for money. This was more than just a meal; it was a celebration of Italy's culinary heritage.
All in all, we would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an authentic, pleasant Italian dining experience. Whether you are marking a special occasion or just in the mood for some delicious food, this establishment is sure to exceed your expectations. It's not just the great food, or the inviting atmosphere, or even the exceptional service that makes this place special; it's the combination of all these factors that leaves an indelible imprint...
Read moreNice restaurant near the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, about a 10 minute walk. I came here with my girlfriend after walking around on the boardwalk. It’s a nice little restaurant located on the corner of a building. Came on a late Sunday evening and there was no wait.
Food was pretty mediocre, for the price, which is why I took two stars. The free bread they gave out was not good. It would’ve tasted a lot better if it was toasted and not cold as we got it. Next up we ordered the Garlic bread appetizer. The bread was pretty good. It had a perfect combination of all the flavors and it had a cheese in the middle. The bread combined with the marinara sauce was great. Next up the entrees. I had the Cavatelli Bolognese and my girlfriend had the Shrimp Pomodoro.
C. Bolognese: I asked for no Ricotta and received ricotta anyway. I didn’t like that. Especially not at an semi-expensive restaurant like this one. I didn’t send it back or complain because I’m very against wasting food. In the photo I took the cheese out and mixed the little bit left in The dish itself was mediocre. I’ve had better bolognese at Olive Garden. In my opinion, they put way too much mozzarella into the pasta. But that’s just me. The pasta wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t that amazing. Felt extremely bloated afterward because of all the cheese content.
Shrimp Pomo.: This dish tasted really nice. I wish the shrimp was a bit softer though. The sauce was nice and light. This overall was a great dish.
Overall, it was a decent restaurant. The main push away factor for me is the quality to price ratio. I don’t think the food is really worth the amount they charge. The food was just mediocre and the price was high. For me and my girlfriend it was $72 (including 20% tip). If you’re in the Rehoboth area, try this place out if you’re in the mood...
Read moreOverall -- It was a nice experience and we look forward to going back. One dish exceeded all expectations while the other was a huge disappointment. Service is absolutely spectacular.
Wine was great, cocktail excellent, and apps were superb. The artichokes were inventive and tasty and the garlic bread (pictured) is a must-order item, and would easily satisfy 4 people.
We ordered the whole trout and the lobster and crab fra diavolo. The trout was absolutely incredible and cooked to perfection. Fish can be a risk, but this dish was perfect. Whole fish, cleaned, deboned, cooked in its skin, and it was moist and tasty.
The lobster and crab fra diavolo (facebook ad version pictured, not what I received) was a massive disappointment. We ordered it in part off the picture and description (A coastal classic with a fiery twist) but it came out fully tossed in their thicker red sauce, zero presentation, indiscernible from bowl of spaghetti, no garnish, and with literally no spice whatsoever. Taste was as bland as bland could be. A true FD should be thinner and spicier and the seafood should shine, like the picture shows. The lobster pieces were tasty, but the crab was nowhere to be found or tasted, and the dish really flopped. Whoever was cooking really couldn't have done a worse job and my hope is that this was a fluke.
I would have said something but really didn't have a chance. The waiter checked on us immediately but I hadn't taken a bite yet and didn't want to gripe about presentation, then by the time we saw him again (appropriately) we were pretty much through. It was a great evening otherwise so I let it go, plus he was an excellent waiter.
I will say they have an awesome looking menu with a lot of interesting choices. There are multiple items there I hope to...
