Budget Inn of Riverside — Hotel in Riverside

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there is some confusion when it comes to the hotel/motel star review system on Google. Normally, hotel star ratings are used to classify a hotel according to their quality/cost. For example, a 5 star hotel should be expensive and you should expect the best service/quality/experience etc. At a 2 star hotel, one should expect a lower price with lower quality amenities, etc.

But how should a 5 star review system be handled when you are intentionally looking for a low priced hotel and accordingly expect lower overall quality to begin with?

The Budget Inn of Riverside, I'm giving a 5 star rating, not because it is a 5 star hotel or because it is the nicest place, because it's not. It's an older building with family member type staff.

However, I give it a 5 star rating, because I got exactly what I expected. You get what you pay for and my priority was cost, nothing more. If this review system was specific to hotels in the same price range, then my review might be different.

In short, my 5 star review is not representative of the quality or price range of the Budget Inn. My rating represents how well my expectations were met. I was looking for the cheapest place and that's exactly what I got so I'm happy. The staff was friendly and the owner has been running this place for over 20 years so he knows how to run the business properly and is a fair and reasonable person while also maintaining strict rules because he has to.

If you're looking for a freshly remodeled facility with the nicest amenities, this isn't the right place. Spend a little more and stay at one of the bigger names. DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE CALLED AN OR TOLD YOU ARE A MORON. I KNOW THIS FIRST HAND AS THIS IS WHAT THE MANAGER DANNY SAID TO ME ABOUT MY SON. Don't ever ... Ever stay here!! Unfortunately, most affordable room in the area were booked the weekend I needed to stay in Riverside, so despite bad reviews, I gave this place a try. I got a 2 double bed for my husband & 2 kids. As soon as we pulled up we saw a hooker out front but proceeded. I went to pay the guy took me to the room and gave me a quick glance. It was so uncomfortably muggy and dirty compared to placed I had stayed before but I had no choice but to take it. All surrounding placed were charing $130+ a night. This place charged $90. As soon we we get settled in the room we began to see roaches! And I don't mean baby ones!! We were not gonna stay in a room like this, especially with 2 kids! My husband talked to the manager and he said no refunds. My husband told him if he didn't get our money back he would call health and sanitation. So, he gave us our money back. As soon as we left we all began itching very bad! Bites all over! Yes.... Bed bugs!! We left and paid to stay at the Comfort Inn right around the corner & I'll tell you... Paying more was so worth it!!! Don't penny pitch because you will be disappointed. As soon as we saw the comfort in we all were relieved! It was like pulling up to DisneyLand compared to that disgusting dump! Worst experience ever...
