Called before arriving on May 3 and was left on hold. Had to call back. Called to ask if room was ready for our checkin and told it was. So we headed to the hotel. When we arrived the agent said our room wasn't ready! But then it was. In advance had requested a room with "no connecting room" but when we checked in we were given a room with a connector so we had to change rooms. (On May 2 I had called in advance and spoken with Mohammed and he said he could upgrade us to a room with a jetted tub. He confirmed it did not connect; this is the room which had a connector.)
When I went back to the front desk to change rooms, the front desk agent said he "didn't know if any of the rooms did NOT have connecting doors"!!! He had to call Mohammed to see what room, if any, I could get that didn't have a connector. Agent showed me 3 rooms to choose from, none of which connect. Our second room did not have a jetted tub. Agent also 3 times asked me if I was sure the first room had a "door". (There's a big door leading to the next room which you can not miss; we could also hear the people next door talking so YES, I was sure we had a connecting room!! And if he thinks EVERY room connects, why did he ask me 3 times if our first room had a connecting door??)
The front doors to the guest rooms are hard to open. While I was at the front desk changing rooms, a man who had just checked in came in and said he could not open his door. I said to this man, "The doors are hard to open." He ignored me and continued to deal with your agent who, instead of telling him the doors were hard to open and and perhaps sending someone with him to show him how to use the card key, gave him another room. I bet he had troubles with this room too!
Room is in need of renovation and deep cleaning. Definitely did not feel like we were in clean surroundings especially with the filth around the A/C, tub and shower curtain which looked grungy. The mirror is loose. Tub doesn't drain well. A/C doesn't cool down the room. And at midnight there was pounding in the room next door; don't know if it was staff or the guest of course. Can't figure out any reason someone would start to pound at 12AM. We had to get up at 4:30AM too.
All in all, a disappointing stay. Also, I have still not received my whopping 200 bonus points for my "Welcome Amenity." This was the only option as there was no beverage or snack to choose. So no "Choice" at...
Read moreSo far so good, but one negative I've noticed is the bathroom not receiving any of the AC when it is on (yes the vent is opened & I also tried with the vent closed - same outcome). The bathroom gets disgustingly hot and humid and it is literally unbearable at times. Then taking a single step out of the bathroom, the rest of the hotel room is super cold and feeling amazing. I don't understand why they aren't connected. Every other hotel has them together, or at least a bathroom that doesn't immediately turn to a sauna the second the door is closed 🫤
But water pressure is so good what it ALMOST makes up for it... Almost. (So not entirely) But it's definitely a great feature.
Employees have all been amazing and nothing short of what you'd wish for in hospitality: professional, accommodating & super friendly.
TV doesn't get a lot of channels but it gets the most important ones & also has Netflix and YouTube available to switch to.
Fridge is best I've ever had in a hotel. It's your basic size but the compartments are actually functional and space appropriate. There's a bucket section at the bottom that makes it so easy to store things that are large, bulky or odd shaped. The freezer section at the top ACTUALLY FREEZES THINGS. (Not 100% perfect but 95% for the most part!) It is functional as a freezer and that's all I'm excited about because that's a FIRST! Normally if it's not one with a separate door for a freezer, I don't even bother because they never actually freeze anything, not even an otter pop. But this one really exceeds my desires so I'm definitely stoked about that!
Spacious room with a closet and dresser drawers.
Breakfast every morning, although I wish they stayed open past 9am on weekdays. However, they seem to be lenient when it comes to shutting it all down and let people eat past breakfast closure as long as people are still there grabbing it and eating in the dining room (which happens to also be the lobby — something I did find interesting) 🤗
Overall I love this hotel and it's definitely one of the best I've stayed at! 👍🏻 Will update after I officially end my stay...
