Peter J. Weber House — Attraction in Riverside

Even without seeing the inside I am glad that Old Riverside Foundation has been the tenant and caretaker of The Weber House since 1990, saving it from Days Inn for redevelopment, who apparently sought removal of its landmark status and demolition or relocation of the house.

I had the opportunity to tour the Courtyard Marriott near UC Riverside and I sat with a group who also wanted a peek at the swimming pool and historic Peter J Weber House right next door. A very cool tiny house from the 1930s of an architectural designer of the Mission Inn Rotunda filled with a combination of Craftsman, art nouveau and Moorish architecture. Incredible detailing of carved and painted woodwork, brickwork and overall beauty. Well informed docents....
