I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars for a few reasons. This hotel has EXCELLENT location and a terrific looking pool and hot tub. They have continental breakfast.. it's not amazing, but it's a nice meal to start your day out right. Here's my issue.. we paid more for a jacuzzi suite, which happened to be poolside (do NOT recommend this if you do not care for humidity.. YIKES - we even turned the air as low as possible to 61 and it was still sweaty). After an hour, the jacuzzi only filled up maybe 10 inches, so we gave up. However, we made a complaint that evening and the manager did refund us the difference between a jacuzzi and regular suite, so that was nice. But it sucked because their hot tub was ALSO broken. Which leads me to their other issue. I get no one polices the pool area, but there was a big group of young men that were basically owning the pool. They were rough housing and splashing and cussing.. a real treat when you are trying to swim with little kids. A woman also berated a young middle school child for bullying her child (which did NOT happen). So it would be nice if the front desk checked on the pool which is only 20 feet or so from where they are. Maybe check a camera when you hear a ton of noise. However.. my biggest complaint is that pool was DISGUSTING. There were bugs, big clumps of hair, bandaids.. you name it. By far the most disgusting pool I've ever seen in my life. The rooms are beautiful, spacious (they could use a luggage rack.. where am I supposed to put it!!!???), but I'm not sure I would stay here again with the pool, hot tub, and jacuzzi suite being the biggest selling points... and all 3 were duds.

We got here and the kiddie pool was broken, no towels, and the bed is in shambles. We have a sofa bed but had to wait way past my son’s bed time to get a bed in a bag (it didn’t come in the room). The doors didn’t close correctly and the pool was always a disaster. The only one working there looked like some homeless person just dumping chemicals in the pool (strange). The pool never had towels. The exercise equipment and room was terrible. It was like a hotbox without towels or anything to clean the sweat on items. In the end, my son was happy to be able to have a slide, but when we got up in the morning the hot tub was closed off. I just feel like this was the worst serviced hotel I’ve ever been to. Takeaways: great for kids. Bring your own towels, expect things to look like a hot mess always, don’t use the workout room (unless you enjoy sweat in hot yoga mats), and enjoy the breakfast, it’s actually pretty good. Just don’t come for a couple’s retreat or even a solo trip…stay ANYWHERE else…

The Internet connection is unreliable and hotel knows this but doesn’t notify you when booking or checking in. There is mold under toilet seat rims, mold on skid mats in showers, substandard breakfast, carpet so dirty your feet turn black from walking on floor, VERY little water pressure it is like showering with a straw , toilet seats and sinks are so short you literally hurt your back trying to bend over to brush your teeth and I am only 5 6”, It’s like they were I designed for dwarfs. The sink is about 36 inches from the ground and you feel like you’re gonna fall trying to sit on the toilet because you have to go so far down, They have an indoor pool but the chemicals are not managed well and hotel halls reek of strong chlorine, there are maintenance issues throughout the property, holes in parking lot, poor lighting and in my opinion lack of general pride in property

Hotel is very clean, room is huge, pool area the best in Rochester and we have stayed at many hotels here! Most of all the staff very nice, helpful, and accommodating (also best in Rochester so far.) You can’t beat that so for all of the above 5+stars. Breakfast was great!! Hot fresh waffles, hot eggs, sausage, bacon and a wide variety of cold food like bagels, cereal, muffins, cheese. Always coffee, water and hot chocolate in lobby. Seriously I will not go anywhere else anymore this was a great place. Here is my only complaint **do not rent room 320!!!’ There is an extremely loud air conditioner on top of the building directly above this room and when I say loud I mean loud, I like to sleep with the loud fan so this is late to the point where I feel like it’s going to harm my ears if I listen to it for too long it’s like being on a loud lawn more all night, I don’t think it’s all of the rooms on the third floor because there is some parts of my room that aren’t as bad I can still hear it and I’ll parts of my room but it’s definitely more muffled and more tolerable I am not a picky person and I can deal with almost everything. This is really upsetting to me as my nine-year-old and I have had a very very long day we had to get up early in the morning and drive three hours to get to the mayo, he was up until 11 covering his head with a pillow, I am still up trying to cover my head with pillows and fall asleep my bed is literally vibrating I called down to the front desk to ask if they had earplugs and they do not! And it’s hard to be upset with them because it’s not their fault that the air conditioner is on the roof and he was very very helpful when I called and right away asked if somebody was being too loud, he apologized for the ac on the roof and offered to move my room and I said I wish I could but My son is finally zonked out and I have all my stuff out I’d have to pack it up and I’m so tired I can barely move but I can’t fall asleep so it sucks but I appreciate him being willing to help in any way. **here is what I would love for hotel staff to do for this room - for future guests please- please go lay in the bed that is closest to the bathroom in that room and you will see, just lay there 5 min - then no one should pay full price For that room especially not knowing what they’re walking into I honestly think this is damaging to someone’s ears I’m sorry for the long post! 🤦‍♀️side note on another positive note very very comfortable bed and pillows, I really would stay here again great hotel , bad room location (this room should be switched to storage

Upon checkout , yet another absolutely wonderful staff member adjusted my rate, Thank you...

I have my child with me and our neighbors were partying/screaming and keeping my son awake so, after asking front desk several times, at about 3:00AM I knocked on the conjoining door and asked if they could keep it down. A woman started screaming that she was going to kill me and tried to force the conjoining door open while my son cried out in horror. The front desk person said they asked the woman to leave, which she did for a little bit. They said they had called the cops, who did absolutely nothing. I wanted to get a refund and go to a different hotel but they said they didn't know how to issue a refund and to call back at 6 when the manager comes in. The woman who threatened me came right back and the party continued. I called the front desk after 6:00AM to ask if the manager was in so I could get a refund bc my neighbors were still keeping us up. I could hear her eyes rolling through the phone. She said no, the manager won't be in until 11 and that there was nothing they could do. I called the front desk 12 times begging for quiet. It's now 9:00am, I still have not slept, and my son has barely slept. We could hear the woman talking about killing us while he tried to fall asleep. It was traumatizing. We came here so my child could have a fun night away from the Mayo Clinic and now the poor kid is too scared of our neighbors to even go swimming or get breakfast. The situation could have been handled so much better and I feel like the staff were just letting their friends party. I will never bring my child here again. It was not "family friendly". Between the creepy men getting drunk and talking crudely in lobby, to staff ignoring hotel rules and my concerns for my childs well-being, safety obviously is not a priority. I have every right to file a hotel negligence lawsuit after what we went through. My neighbors are still awake partying and yelling. The front desk lady said everyone except for 1 person got kicked out of that room but I hear at least 4 voices in there right now. It's obvious that these are friends of the front desk staff. There was a line of customers complaining and the staff was just ignoring it. We're literally just trapped in our room until the manager gets here and kicks the violent customer out, or they check out on their own because we don't want to get jumped. Horrible experience. Still shaking. Zero stars.

Updating to say the manager refused to talk to me when she came in and we are leaving without a refund. No apologies. No sleep. No refund. But the party is still going! Do not choose Best Western - RUN FAR FROM THIS PLACE

Updating again because the manager finally called back, apologized, and...

I wouldn’t even give this place a -star.. We got juggled around three different times before getting settled into a room.. Had to pay a cash deposit.. Upon checkout, I was told I had to wait for a manager. I was told I had to wait for a housekeeping manager before I can get my deposit back or even leave the property. Left the property to go do what I had to do while I was in the area came back, and I was told to pretty much deal with the fact that the manager was not around. To come back later, I came back later Still no manager to get my cash back or even talk about the experience of being juggled around. I could list on and on of the bullcrap That went on to be juggled around. In the meantime, I’m trying to check out with my three young children to drive 4 1/2 hours home.. Do I get told I cannot have my hundred dollar deposit back because they don’t know when their manager is gonna be in and I said you Kidding me this is the most crap hole I have ever been in Due to going to three different rooms waking up the elevator is not working Try to get a cooler, kids and luggage down three flights of stairs with no help. To being told by the front desk, lady that I could suck it up and leave the property because of the horrible experience she gets an attitude and have an attitude, but I can express the way I feel and then I’m told I’m never to come back but yet she can be Disrespectful to customers call them names, but I’m to deal with it and speak respectfully. This place is a joke and scam. Have the rooms have things missing in them and they will blame it on you.. They will tell you that you need to put down deposits and want you to spend the day waiting around for them hand and foot. They can swear you and be disrespectful and tell you To get off the property and when it comes to money and to get answers, but by golly, you can’t be disrespectful at all according to Best Western headquarters because they can exchange Disrespectful words,...
