I needed a dryer temporarily because the dryer I purchased from Best Buy was back ordered and it would be 1-2 months before it was delivered. I called rent a center on Tuesday, 9-6-22 and explained the situation to the lady. She said she was in the middle of doing inventory and was unable to tell me if they had any dryers in stock. She took my info and said she would call me back. This was at 10am. I called back the same day after 1pm to ask the status. She said she was still doing inventory and would call me back the following day. Nobody called me back the next day, Wednesday, 9-7-22. On Thursday, 9-8-22, I went online and filled out all the paperwork. It let me pick out a dryer, said in stock, but I was hesitant to complete the transaction. I wanted to make sure a live person could confirm that they did have it in stock and when could they deliver. I called back and I tried to explain the situation but the lady cut me off, took my info and said she would call me back later because she had a customer in the store. No call back that day. I called back on Friday, 9-9-22, and was finally able to talk to someone. He verified my info and said come in tomorrow, Saturday, 9-10-22, and we can finish the transaction. I went in on Saturday, 9-10-22, and they told me they didn’t have any dryers in stock at their location but they could check other stores. They found one at another store and said they needed to transfer it to their inventory from the other store. The guy at the other store said he’d do it but was very busy. The guy told me it could be a while if I wanted I could go about my day and they would call me and I could pay over the phone they just needed to wait for the other guy to update the inventory in the system. I was set up for delivery on Tuesday, 9-13-22. Saturday, 9-10-22, came and went and nobody called me. I just called this morning, Monday, 9-12-22, and the guy that answered had no clue and transferred me to the manager. After about 3 mins on hold I hung up and called the store back. The guy I talked to on Friday and Saturday answered. He remembered me and said they still didn’t have the dryer so I told him to go ahead and cancel it. Rent a center had been my go to for home furniture and appliances in a pinch but after this experience I’ll never go back. My biggest complaint would be the lack of follow up. If you say you are going to call someone back do so even if its just to say, Hey, I still don't have a dryer for you but I am working on it. I just wanted to let you know we haven't forgotten about you and your business is important to us. I would have waited another week if I had received a phone call from somebody with a some sort of...
Read moreThe Round Rock location of Hester's crossing is not a location I would recommend. I’ve been doing business with this rental company for over 10 years. Have leased then bought numerous products without incident. The credit collector Ebony of this store is extremely unprofessional. I told her that her conduct was unprofessional, I asked to get the corporate number and she said “why don’t you get it yourself if your so smart”. In a nutshell, she acted like an animal in the zoo and I felt like instead of asking for a manager I should be asking for a zookeeper. It’s very unfortunate, and just because a person comes from a low socioeconomic status, doesn’t mean you have to act like you do. I called another Rent-A-Center in Austin (78758) location who was very helpful and gave me the number but they said they couldn’t transfer the account so I’m going to cancel my services, don’t think I’m going to use Rent-A-Center at all. As far as calling that one 800 number that the digital response says to use is useless, I called twice and the district manager never called back or apparently did not follow up on my complaint, not that I’m aware of. And as far as them telling customers that they have to do auto pay, it’s not true. the best thing is to know the law and business practices, and what’s stated In the contract. My cousin a criminal attorney for over 30 years in San Antonio, I actually have three cousins that are attorneys. I ask them for input since they know/work with law. I’ve never been in auto pay with them since I started using them over 10 years. I talked to a police officer who said that their practices fall into a civil matter, but if they do certain things it can potentially be a criminal matter ( like forcing their way into a home, threatening people, harassing,) then it could fall into a...
Read moreI hate giving bad reviews for anything but my whole experience with this place was terrible. I placed an order online for a new couch for my birthday, the next day I get a call and I'm told someone will contact me when the couch was in to get more info and schedule my delivery. About a week or two goes by and someone calls me stating my couch was in and schedules a delivery for the following Friday, then states she will send me an email to collect the information that's needed and once the couch arrives I can start paying on it. A few days go by and i havent received an email so at this point I just go to the store and the gentleman there tells me, that I needed to email them and he had no information on the delivery for the couch but the woman I spoke with was on lunch and when she got back she would call me. Well the next day she calls and again I'm told my couch will be there on a Friday. Friday comes and I call to see what the eta on it is and at that time I'm told by a manager that my couch never made it in and that he'd have the rep call me. When she calls again she states that the couch is on backorder and that it looks like I owe $600 before they can even order it because I wasn't approved for enough to cover the couch. The whole thing was a waste of time and I just went to another furniture store that was able to work with my schedule and get me a couch within two weeks since this was a birthday present for myself.
Honestly this place will give you the run around, sadly they're all nice but it doesn't seem like anyone really knows what's...
