Purchased a new HP with 8G of DDR4 RAM and wanted to double that, called and Matt let me know he could do it for 25 bucks compared to Best Buys 40 bucks for same service. Quick and easy process at the same time supporting a local business.
Fast worward two weeks later. I had spoken with the owner about installing a SSD drive and he said he would match Best Buy's $40 hardware installation fee. I called him back at 10am since he did not open on time today from the Best Buy parking lot and he said he could do the job today. I show up and he askes me what the price Best Buy was charging for the same job. He tells me that is very to cheap for him and his minimum is 79 an hour for labor and he cut me a brake on the RAM instal to earn my business. Goes on to tell me he will do it since he already agreed to the price but doesn't look happy. I then ask him if he will make sure the laptop boots up correctly after the instal and he says he is only swapping the drive.but will not check it for that price. At that point I told him if he didn't want the job then that was fine and I would have Best Buy do the job. He told me he would prefer that and I walked out of there. Went to Best Buy had the drive installed for 39 bucks with a guarantee that if it did not boot up they would reinstall the original hard drive at no extra cost as it was on the same visit (boot and test it at Best Buy before I take the laptop home) got my laptop back in 20 min with out a hassle.
I have no issue with the owner not wanting to do the job but you make that clear before you make a client drive up to your business and give them attitude because the job doesn't pay what you want. As a small business owner customer service is the only thing you have to compete against the big guys and in this case you...
Read moreWhen my Mac got a white screen because I stupidly clicked on an "Adobe Update" that was really malware, I took it to Economy Computer Repair because my local Mac repair place was closed that day. At first I wasn't sure of ECR's expertise because it was just a little shop in an out-of-the-way strip center but after speaking with Jaunita, my uncertainty was put to rest. She had worked for Mac and knew what she was doing even though they had another Max expert on staff. They removed the virus, loaded data from my back-up, restored the computer and added the latest version Mac system for a modest fee. But after a diagnostic they . informed me that a number of sectors were bad on my old machine, which explained other troubles I was having with it, and could sell me a refurbished one at a reasonable cost and a 3-year warranty! So I bought it. They discounted the original cost I accrued in the sale price of the new machine. When I experienced a problem with another malware attempt the next day I brought it in and they fixed that for free then and there. A few weeks later I noticed my battery wasn't lasting long and so they ordered a new battery and installed it for free. I didn't expect that. Juanita assured me that I had a 3-year warranty and anything that happens I can bring it in. This is the kind of service that is rare, these days. I found that Economy Computer repair had the expertise I needed and a client-friendly attitude that brings business back. My only regret in writing this review is the fear that their sterling business practices will make them too busy and I'll have to stand in line to purchase my...
Read morehad my laptop fixed there in the past, i purchased a bigger battery for it also, paid my bill and off i went, since then when i opened the top to my laptop it made a ringing sound, didnt pay too much attention to it. well finally my screen doesnt want to light up so i decided to take it back in for some repair work. when i went in i was greeted by the guy who worked on it the last time and he smirked with a little laugh and said i remember that one said that they dont work on these laptops because theyre older and fragile, the website claims you guys are all about the customer service, i love my laptop and take good care of it. but to have this guy who worked on it previously smirk and say yall dont work on these make me feel that my previous visit was just to get some type of money from me. Had to add - The knowledge of your response claiming my laptop is 22 years old, well buddy im sure whoever read that comment and knows computers the vista wasnt available to the public till jan 30, 2007, so either you dont know computers or you dont know math, come on buddy which one is it? sometimes it pays to know what youre saying before you open your mouth. 06/02/2020- update- my lap top is still not 23 years old and i found someone to fix it.
