Best dish tasted was the papaya salad! It had peanuts, string beans?, green papaya, cherry tomatos, and a slice of cabbage on a single leaf of green leaf lettuce. Packed with fish sauce flavor. Just a tinge of heat. Definitely ask for thai chilis if you want more heat. They only have powdered thai chilies and pickled jalapeños though FYI. (~$9)
Their pad thai was not one I'm familiar with. The pad thai noodles served here is more slimy/cooked longer? but the flavor is good. (sorry, forgot to take a pic! but other's pics are accurate!) ($11 +$4 beef)
Massaman curry was good, but the rice to curry ratio is a bit off which made it kind of dry. (~$15 beef)
Not sure which one my husband ordered.. but it was the fish dish. He was stoked to find it but it didn't meet the flavor expectations. (~17.5)
Got mango sticky rice to finish the meal. It wasn't a large portion. The mangos were soft and sweet. The sticky rice wasn't too sweet and the coconut milk flavor wasn't strong. ($not sure)
Total came out to be ~$65 for 1 salad, 3 entrees, 1 dessert. Kind of pricy, but we did order extra and took it home to eat for our next meal.
Overall would come back and try their other dishes. Their soup dishes and Pad see ew...
Read moreWe are always on the prowl for tasty Thai food, and Ros Niyom delivered a wonderful meal.
I ate the Pad Ka Na Moo Krob, "Stir-Fried crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli and slide fresh chili" and enjoyed every bite. The crispy pork pairs well with the al dente veggie, and they delivered when I requested the spicy version. I poured the brown sauce on my rice and shoveled it into my greedy maw, savoring every bite and enjoying every bit of sweat dripping off my face.
My lady is a green curry aficionado, and she gave theirs high marks for both the curry's flavor and the mixture of veggies served in it.
The service was spot on, our waitress didn't miss a step. She even presented the chop sticks to me with a flourish when I requested them. The decor is simple and the space unassuming, but I like to believe it is because they are concentrating (and succeeding) on preparing really tasty food.
I guess some people might find the servings smaller than what Americans are used to, but I found the meal very satisfying and filling without being heavy.
We will most assuredly return, and I look forward to trying something different from...
Read moreNice Thai restaurant tucked in shopping center just off of I-35. We have the pad Thai, pad see ew, and pad ma keur. We also ordered the curry puffs as an appetizer.
The curry puff is delicious. Flakey crispy pastry skin, stuffed with potatoes and curry spices. The dish comes with a peanut dipping sauce, which initially sounded odd in my head. But it paired surprisingly well with the mild curry flavor of the stuffing. I would order this again in a heartbeat.
The pad thai is also good, nice blend of acidity from the tamarind and sweetness from the palm sugar. The dish is a smidge on the moist side, which I enjoy. There are so many variations to pad thai, from dry to saucy. This one is right in the middle.
The pad see ew was ok, essentially stir fried rice noodles seasoned with soy sauce. I think it would have been better with larger pieces of rice noodles, and tossed in a wok with more heat to have that nice "wok hei" sear that's so common with many Asian stir fried dishes.
The pad ma keur is good...eggplants tossed in a light garlic sauce with your choice of protein. A bowl of rice accompanied the dish (additional rice is available,...
