My wife and I decided to swing through Ruidoso on a whim during our vacation and hadn't arranged a room ahead of time. We punched "hotels" into google maps and lucked into this one. We got lucky and got the last room they had available that night, and when we decided to stay an extra night, we again were able to get our same room. Their rates are GREAT, not much more then you'd pay for a Motel 6 room in a big city.
The location is great, close enough to down town to drive over in 5 minutes to shop, but far enough away it's not too noisy or crowded. The property is excellent, very well kept, and feels almost like someones back yard. There are picnic tables, swings, hummingbird feeders, etc. It's a great place to drink you're complimentary coffee and eat your fresh homemade muffins provided by the Chalet in the morning, or to relax and enjoy the evening after a day out and about.
The rooms themselves were very clean and to quote my wife "adorable." They have a ton of great touches, from cute custom "do not disturb" signs (their verbiage is different, stay and see for yourself), to having local toiletries stocked in the bathrooms. Our room at least, had varnished pine ceilings that looked great. The bed was quite comfortable, and the pillows were gigantic (almost too much of a good thing). The room came with a fridge and microwave at no additional cost.
The owners obviously care about their business and it shows. I highly doubt my wife and I will stay anywhere else in Ruidoso, and I highly recommend you...
Read moreWhat a cute little spot right on the main street! Very quaint and great location. We only had to drive a mile or so up the road to hit all the restaurants and shopping! I loved how it was tucked into trees and everything was decorated so cute and cozy like a cabin! It was also easy to find and spot after dark (neon sign)
The service was great-everyone was super friendly. After being out all day, it was a nice surprise to return to a cleaned and re-stocked room.
We booked a suite upstairs and it had everything we needed. It was spacious (big enough for 2 of us to do yoga), had an electric fireplace heater, a little kitchen sink next to the microwave and fridge and even a 4 person dining table! We could see the snowtopped mountain from our window too. The room was really warm when we arrived (end of November). There was a cute little sun room entrance to our room too. The beds were fine (we prefer med-firm mattresses and these were soft…they had a bit of a dip that was in the middle of the mattress).
We appreciated all of the thoughtful details like hot muffins, available oatmeal, tea and coffee, vending machine, sauna (although we didn’t use it) etc. there’s even a nice outside picnic table area under the trees!
Overall it was a great stay and the price was great too! The only downside is that they don’t allow pets. But alas, I...
Read moreI really, REALLY wish I'd had more time to really enjoy it! Alas, I was only "passing through", so to speak..... I had only 2 short nights and one long day, and unfortunately my day was spent working..... that said..... I arrived with my two sons to find my only complaint about this room - we booked 2 queens but received 2 fullsized beds..... mine was very comfortable, I don't even care if theirs was! But enough of the bad! The staff here are EXCEPTIONAL!! i believe it was Lisa who checked us in, and she was super helpful and informative..... but the next morning, Shaina (hope I spelled that right?) absolutely went above and beyond!!! Such a treasure! More than accommodating, she was an absolute SWEETHEART! We had a very early start the next day, well before the complimentary breakfast, but she made sure I'd have coffee and muffins for the boys and that we were well taken care of our entire stay! I was so pleased to see ACTUAL customer service, I forgot all about the sleeping arrangements!! I highly recommend staying here if you have the opportunity! The rooms are comfy, SUPER clean, and the caring staff are the warmest, friendliest people you're likely to meet...... can not wait to stay with...
